You sure do throw a lot of 'if this and that' around. So much for your comment of taking "results", huh?

I don't think it's fair to say Rodgers is the greatest, but his results thus far are impressive.

I just said I was wrong about some of the stuff I said about him. The way he's played has been unbelievable and he deserves all the credit he's getting now. I just didn't get him that credit a year ago or two years ago. But I just meant that discussion about Brady, Manning, Brees, its stupid but you have to win MVPs and/or SBs.

Rodgers is half way there because he's an elite QB, You can't just win a SB (like Eli), you also need that consistent elite QB status, which Rodgers now has. If he gets a SB or some MVPs, he'll be discussed with Brady, Manning and Brees.

I don't agree that you need a SB because its a team sport, I was just pointing out with the if's, the difference between being discussed with Manning and Brady and not. It doesn't really make any sense but its just the way it is.

You said you believe in results, then threw around a bunch of if this happened, if that. Seems a little wafflish to me.

Since this thread has evolved into a bit of a Burt vs. AROD thread, I thought I'd post it since it made me LOL. From PFT (Florio)

And they did it with a night to remember from Aaron Rodgers, who has gotten the Brett Favre monkey off his back, stuffed it, mounted it on the wall, and texted a photo of it to Jenn Sterger.

How many tackles does Rodgers break? How many people who get through does Aaron juke then go on to complete a pass? We saw it ALL DAY LONG yesterday. They were getting though all day and Aaron would slip away and complete a pass. He's freaking amazing.

I thought his best play of the night was a 3rd down conversion in the 2nd half to Jones on about the GB 15 (opening possession of the half?). It was about 3rd and 13, he spins away from Abraham, Jones comes back to the marker and Rodgers rifles it to him for another 1st. He alluded a rush, was off balance, and had sniper-like accuracy while on the run. It won't make a lot of highlights, but it typified everything that he is capable of.

The Marino/Montana comparisons are a little premature just yet, but what an absolute stud he is playing like right now!

I was on this forum and on the forum previously stating that, back in 2005, I felt Aaron was not only going to replace Brette Favre, but was going to be better because of his equally strong arm, better accuracy surgical precision, poise, and mobility. Aaron's like JOe Montana with a stronger arm.

I'm glad and happy that us packer fans can all see Aaron come into his own and show to the NFL world that he really is a special quarterback and will shine in his own way away from Farve.

Seattle, Chicago, Pittsburgh, NewEngland, and The JEts...all got a message today. The Packers are going to be coming and you are not going to be able to stop them.

Are we going to have to put up with you saying "I told you so", every time Rodgers has a good game? :)

We've conceded, you were right (as were MANY others) that Rodgers would be a good QB.

During his rookie year, I said Rodgers wouldn't cost us any game, but that he'd rarely be the reason we won a game. Can't really say I was right on that prediction, but in my defense, Rodgers has improved his mechanics and arm strength since he was drafted. I didn't foresee that happening.

Rodgers is a special QB, that's for sure. Glad we got him.

btw, his name is Favre, not Farve.

Favre had the strongest arm I have ever seen. Nobody could throw it like Favre. I recently watched the 1995 game between the Pack and Bears. In my view, Favre's arm is stronger than Rodgers. In fact, Favre's play in 94-98 was as good as a run a QB ever had. The problem was Favre fell off. After Mike Holmgren left, Favre was still great, but nowhere near as good as he was with Holmgren, which is saying something about the level of his play at that time.

I think Rodgers' ability to create things on the move is pretty amazing. There isn't a player better in the league at rolling out of the pocket and making plays. Actually, Rodgers is more elusive at evading rushers than anyone in the league, which is including Mike Vick. Vick just runs away, but Rodgers does it and keeps his eyes down field. That is more impressive in my assessment. I think Rodgers is better than Favre at creating with his legs and he is more accurate in my view as well. Rodgers is a right-handed Steve Young, but he throws a nicer ball though.

It is too early to tell where he might go. This could be the start of Rodgers streak of elite play. Because right now, Rodgers is one of four, five, maybe six elite QBs in the game.
