Porn is guaranteed $300 a scene and often more, often closer to $600 a scene. Top porn stars are making $2200 for a session.
Software engineers with 10 years experience in this area are making about $120k a year. That means they have a college degree from a respectable institution and have worked in this industry for 10 years.
$120k a year translates to $60/hr in a 40 hr week with 2 weeks off. Porn is making $600 for an hour work and 2 hours preparation, so that's 3 hours total.
It is known that a software engineer will in their career get carpal tunnel syndrome and will be in pain the rest of their lives. It is also known that you will have back problems and eye problems. The back problems can be so severe that I know one Software Engineer who sees a chiropractor twice a week. Me? Once every two weeks. I'm a nazi about getting up every hour and walking around.
It is also known that you will be stuck in traffic probably an hour each way. I had one job where it was 90 minutes to work and 2.5 hours to get home. No exaggeration whatsoever. I was also working 55 hours a week. Then my job went to India while the CEO got a multi-million dollar bonus.
Who's got the better job? Certainly not the software engineer.
