Thought it was pretty cool that we came in first in a players survey.

Believe it, Packers fans. In a poll of 277 NFL players for Sports Illustrated, 26% of those surveyed said Green Bay Packers fans were the most knowledgeable fans in the league.

Way back in second place are fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fourteen percent of the players said Pittsburgh had the most knowledgeable fans.

WHICH CITY HAS THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE FANS?
Green Bay 26%
Pittsburgh 14%
New York 9%
Philadelphia 8%
Dallas 7%

FAST FACTS

All four NFC East cities finished among the top nine vote-getters. That division also leads the NFL in attendance.... Seattle received the largest segment of votes (4%) among West Coast cities.... Six locales received no votes: Carolina, Cincinnati, Houston, St. Louis, San Diego and Tampa Bay.... A recent study of college degrees per square mile placed San Francisco (1%) as the best-educated city in the U.S.

Based on 277 NFL players who responded to SI's survey.

To be fair, about 1/4 of the leauge's players that were literate enough to fill out the poll probably reside in Green Bay.

How do the players decide that we are the most knowledgeable? Are there Packers fans at the games that are yelling out bits of trivia while the opposing players listen in?
