I understand comparing Mike McCarthy to other coaches. We all do it, but you cannot make decisions off doing it. The fact is every situation is different and football is a situational sport. What is the current situation in Green Bay? Is it bad? Is it bright? You cannot care about other teams because there are examples to support every opinion out there.

Tampa Bay fired Tony Dungy and brought in Jon Gruden. Clearly, the best approach is firing Mike McCarthy and going after Gruden. Right?

Well, Chicago has stuck with Lovie Smith and they won the division. They went three years in a row without making the playoffs. I am sure they made the wrong decision then.

Lets look at the situation.

Has this team quit as they did in Dallas and Minnesota?

No, they have not.

Has this team endured a ton of adversary?

Yes, they have.

Have they ever looked unprepared heading into a game?

No, they haven't.

Have they had a ton of injuries?

Yeah, they have and it sounds like an excuse, but it's a frakin valid excuse.

Ryan Grant
Jermichael Finley
Nick Barnett
Morgan Burnett
Mike Neal
Brad Jones
Brady Poppinga
Frank Zombo (We were starting our fourth string OLB against NE)
Derrick Martin

Ryan Pickett, Cullen Jenkins, Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews, and Donald Driver have missed games this season.

Overall, despite all the problems, the Pack is two home wins away from making the postseason. Then what? Fire McCarthy because he didn't win a playoff game?

Who replaces him?

Personally, McCarthy is a better coach this season than he was last season and they may not make the playoffs. Remember, players grow as players, but coaches grow as coaches. McCarthy will be better next year and the Packers will be a better team next year.

The injuries aren't an excuse. They are injured because of Ted and Mike, it's their fault!

yeah 'cause its all those injured players giving up big plays on special teams, and drawing stupid penalties every week.

13 players on IR I believe. That means 13 players have been added to the Green Bay roster during the season. Most if not all of those players play on special teams because certain special teams players have become starters on the defense. That is 13 players off the street to come in and play special teams. Let that sink in. Green Bay is running with a patched up special teams unit. Not to mention, several players on IR are key special teams players. Derrick Martin is the special teams captain. Poppinga is a special teams player for the most part. Even Anthony Smith was brought into play special teams.

So, yeah, the injuries have hurt the special teams as much as any unit really.

Frankly, penalties were a bigger problem last year than this season. Aside from one game, the Packers have been improved in that area of the game.

Mike Holgrom was in his 5th year.

Jimmy Johnson was in his 4th and 5th year for the SBs.

.

How many draft picks did Jimmy get again? and who did he pick with those picks?

Why not bring up Jimmys Miami job?

4 years

1st year had Danny and came in 4th

and NEVER won the division in those 4 years, never went past 2nd round of playoffs

Man if it use to be I didn't get laid by the second date, that chic was down the road. Are some of you guys 18 years old, with no dick control or patience of any kind?

It takes talent, coaching, and a whole lot of good Karma to win the Super Bowl, and forget about a dynasty anymore.

what about the other 5 years of poor special teams play....is that to be blamed on injuries also?

i do not feel it is injuries, it is lack of talent added to the team through the draft over the last 6 years.

I wholeheartedly agree with you here, but this is a ted Thompson issue not a reason to fire McCarthy.
