We are at playoff race time but i'm still curious with what everyone thinks about what is gonna happen next year with Finley and Quarless(hope im spelling it right) it's a good problem to have but i think Quarless has alot of talent and the packers dont run alot of two tight end sets. The problem being we don't run many one tight end sets anyways so is Quarless basically gonna be a wide-out next year?

The Packers actually did and still do run plenty of 2 TE sets. In the future with both, defenses are going to have nightmares leading upto Packers games. The two of them both on the field at the same time is going to be fun to watch.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I predict Quarless and Finley to be in on many packages. They are big men have TE attached to their name, but it doesn't matter where they line up, they'll catch the ball when it comes their way (assuming Quarless continues to improve and impress).

I want to get through this year before I look down the road to next year. What if there is a lockout or a strike? What if Someone pulls a muscle during training camp? 10,000 things can happen. I just want to think about the game Sunday for right now.

He's on injured reserve. By rule, he can't play in any games this year, regular season or otherwise.

If Quarless continues to develop (which is far from a sure thing anyway) they will find a way to get him on the field when Finley comes back. McCarthy has shown that he is very willing to adjust his formations to make the best use of his personnel (5 WR and 2 FB being examples of that). I would like to see them line up sometimes with Quarless at TE and Finley split wide, where he can fully concentrate on scaring the crap out of those little DBs.

2 good TEs didn't seem to be a problem when we had Jackson and Chewy.

Yeah... that worked out pretty well, didn't it? But remember, after we signed Jackson, Chewy spent a lot more time blocking than catching. Having two receiving tight ends on the field is a less viable scenario, unless one (or both) of them is capable of laying the wood like Chewy could...

One (of many) thing I don't have a good feel for is how good our TEs are at blocking. Simply based on reading articles, my understanding is that neither Quarless/Finley are particularly good run blockers which would expose our intentions if both are in.
