This is just Ted being Ted.

Keeping The Packers young and full of potential. The problem with young and full of potential is when it comes play-off time the team with the most experience usually comes out on top.

Thus we will see how this works out.

I hope I am wrong, but there will be a situation that will come up this year that calls for Underwood or Lee, or Bush to have to step in for someone who is injured and it will cost The Packers a win.

Just another what if moment that everyone can talk about next year, the year after or 5 years down the road.

All will be well though because everyone will agree that Ted did the right thing at the time, and one of those players will eternally be blamed for another hearbreaking Packer loss.

You're so right, buckeyepackfan. Al Harris was the missing piece that helped push the Packers over the top in the NFC Championship Game.

Oh, wait . . .

I fully get your assessment and it is very valid..But those 11 were the starters vs AZ and they for sure didnt perform as vets and lot of those had playoff experience...

Right this moment I have way more confidence in our defense then the offense for a playoff game..

Maybe I'm wrong and maybe I'm being an asshole, but Al was one of those players that I always took what he said with a grain of salt. I'm not convinced that he is able to see things for what they are all the time. Usually when something like this is brought to light we get somewhat of a he said/he said, and we have to piece it together to figure out something close to the truth, recognizing that neither side is able to tell it exactly like it is. With Ted Thompson, this doesn't happen, because he never says anything. So we have to take Al at his word. Well, I'm sorry, but I just can't do that. Al is a very emotional and very positive-minded guy, so I think there is a better than fair chance that he may have missed some signals and/or remembered things a little differently than they actually were. I take him to be someone who hears what he wants to hear, and sees what he wants to see. I'm not saying that he definitely did, but there is enough of a question in my mind to not get all pissed off at Thompson based on what Al tells us.

if Al stayed healthy, he still may have lost his job. Williams and Shield both are much faster than Al Harris. Harris would have been in a dogfight for his job right from Training camp.

the offense is only going to go as far as A-Rod takes them. If GB makes it to the NFC Championship, I'd say Rodgers will be a MVP candidate.

Our defense is playing so good, Al Harris is not even missed.

The MVP is voted upon before the regular season even ends. Playoff performances are irrelevant to that award.

I think you missed my point alltogether. Never said Al Harris should be starting over Williams or Shields, just saying if they get hurt and The Packers need to depend on the others I mentioned, well we've seen that story play out.

While I'm at it, since Ted decided to IR Tauscher, an O-lineman, who didn't play on St's, and pick up Havner, a player I like, but has no real value for The Packers, the roster spot was obviously available for Harris, but he was let go anyway.

I disagree with one move ted makes and I get accused of being a "head basher"?..Tough crowd...

Wait, I thought it was Brett's fault The Packers lost that game? Guess I was wrong.

You've obviosly have mixed up your play-off games, I am betting you are thinking about The overtime win against Seattle, you remember, or maybe not.

Using one game as an example is a pretty weak defense for a move that IMHO was wrong.

Having Al Harris on the roster, on the sidelines ,in a backup role, IMHO, is a much better scenario than having Spencer Havner.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
