What is a "drop" kick?

It is a technique that essentially goes against all fundamental teachings for kickers and punters. Rather than hit the meat of the ball with his foot, the punter hits the point.

If done correctly, the ball sails high and end over end. It won't travel as far as a traditional spiral punt, but if it hits the ground inside the 20-yard line, chances are it won't bounce into the end zone.

The ball sure moved around a lot like a knuckle ball. I think Dez had trouble fielding the with the first punt.

Second one was a 55-yarder (to the 17) where Dez fumbled and Collins scored.

The rest of the team's success is more difficult to judge as the Cows basically spent 60 minutes imploding on the field. However Masthay had an excellent performance for the second straight week in a row. Has our search for a punter finally come to an end? Time will tell.
