What is a "drop" kick?
It is a technique that essentially goes against all fundamental teachings for kickers and punters. Rather than hit the meat of the ball with his foot, the punter hits the point.
If done correctly, the ball sails high and end over end. It won't travel as far as a traditional spiral punt, but if it hits the ground inside the 20-yard line, chances are it won't bounce into the end zone.
