Just curious if you know that anyone can edit what wikipedia says? Now lets get back on topic and find the rbs Ted Thompson drafted :)

Just so you know, Wikipedia will ban your account and block your IP address if you're intentionally doing funny stuff. Stephen Colbert learned that the hard way.

Wikipedia is a lot more accurate than people think. Here's TT's page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Thompson

Feel free to edit it with false info. See how long it lasts.

+1 by the way for being the first person to actually answer the OP's question.

he drafted shaun alexander for the seahawks and traded for ryan grant for the packers. if you find franchise rbs like these, you don't have to do more than add quality back-ups. alexander and grant are not too bad moves IMO 😉

Dhaze is trying to pull another "camel's nose under the tent" move regarding Ted.

I see it coming.

He's doing running backs now.

Sooner or later David is going to run out of positions in his seemingly never ending quest to try and find something to bitch about when it comes to Ted Thompson. 🙂

Thanks alot and here I was hoping we would win the Super Bowl sometime soon, now you have me thinking we will be drafting in the top 5 the next few years.

I feel the doom now, Hopefully we have a lock out next year so we don't have to suffer thru a 4-14 season.

I remember people saying Ted Thompson built the Seahawks and I have to ask what the hell did he build?

"dhazer" wrote:

wikipedia:

Thompson worked in Seattle as Vice President of Football Operations; also heading Seattle's scouting department and running the draft boards. He worked alongside former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren; who was Seattle's GM at the time.

During Thompson's 2000-2004 tenure in Seattle, the Seahawks advanced to the playoffs twice. In 2005, following Thompson's departure to the Packers, the Seahawks had their best success in team history, reaching the Super Bowl. Many of the players on Seattle's Super Bowl team were acquired under Thompson's direction.

In an interview with Mike Homgren in 2009, Holmgren noted how important Thompson was to Seattle's success saying; "Once Ted Thompson came on board and we settled down a little bit, we started making good decisions."

Anyone can edit wikipedia, but if you don't put in citations (as in links to acutal news that contain information you use in the page) it will soon get deleted. All you need to do is click the [insert number here] buttons and you will get links to articles.

Seattle was a very good team during the end of TT's time there, and a short time after he left. I don't think that it can be interpreted that he did a bad job there.

The sexual tension between Dhazer and Uncle Ted is alarming.

Hey Gunny, what are you doing over on PPO talking shit? Isn't that like kicking a three legged dog that was neutered before ever getting near a female?

I don't think that list is accurate because it doesn't list Wynn. He was a 7th round draft choice.

Anyone got a real list or we gonna bitch back and forth about whether Ted drafted in Seattle or not?

I went through the draft results one by one to get this:

2000 1 #19 Shaun Alexander (Pick from Dallas)
2001 3 #82 Heath Evans (Pick from New Orleans through Green Bay and San Francisco)
2002 2 #54 Maurice Morris
2003 5 #165 Chris Davis (Pick from Green Bay)
2007 2 #63 Brandon Jackson (Pick from Chicago through NY Jets)
2007 7 #228 DeShawn Wynn
2010 6 #193 James Starks

2005 6 #196 Tony Jackson (First year Thompson was NOT GM of the Seahawks)

So hazer was pretty damn close. Also I didn't put the two Fullback's on my list (Hall and Johnson).

What's amazing to me is, looking back at all TT's drafts now besides Justin Harrell the picks he makes in the first three rounds almost always turn out good, especially in his time in Green Bay

2000 - (1) Shaun Alexander RB (1) Chris McIntosh OT (2) Ike Charlton DB (3) Darrell Jackson WR (From Dallas)
2001 - (1) Koren Robinson WR (1) Steve Hutchinson OG (This pick was from GB) (2) Ken Lucas DB (3) Heath Evans RB
2002 - (1) Jeramy Stevens TE (2) Maurice Morris RB (2) Anton Palepoi DB (This pick was from GB as well) (3) Kris Richard DB
2003 - (1) Marcus Trufant DB (2) Ken Hamlin DB (3) Wayne Hunter OT
2004 - (1) Marcus Tubbs DT (2) Michael Boulware DB (3) Sean Locklear OG
2005 - (1) Aaron Rodgers QB (2) Nick Collins S (2) Terrence Murphy WR
2006 - (1) AJ Hawk LB (2) Daryn Colledge OT (2) Greg Jennings WR (3) Abdul Hodge LB (3) Jason Spitz OG
2007 - (1) Justin Harrell DT (2) Brandon Jackson RB (3) James Jones WR (3) Aaron Rouse DB
2008 - (2) Jordy Nelson WR (2) Brian Brohm QB (2) Pat Lee CB (3) Jermichael Finley TE
2009 - (1) BJ Raji DT (1) Clay Matthews OLB
2010 - (1) Bryan Bulaga OT (2) Mike Neal DT (3) Morgan Burnett S

Rodgers, Collins, Hawk, Colledge, Jennings, Spitz, Jackson, Jones, Nelson, Finley, Raji, Matthews, Bulaga, Neal, Burnett. I have to admit though I don't know how well the average is for NFL teams so I could be just blowing smoke here.
