do you guys really think someone will pick him up? He couldn't be motivated to play for 2 SB contenders, what the heck makes you think he'll be worth a darn to a shitty team?

$$$$$$... clearly what will make Randy want to play yet again. Only thing left.

I read somewhere that if anyone picks him up from waivers the Vikings have to still pay the rest of his salary this year. How awesome would that be if we could pick him up and have the Vikings pay for the tab. I think that alone would make it worthwhile.

Whether he is productive or not is irrelevant for a few games as he has earned the respect of defenses so DC's won't often scheme up single coverage for him. That presents a problem.

Actually the opposite.

If someone claims him.. they are on the hook for the rest of his salary.. if he goes unclaimed, the Vikings are on the hook.

If he goes unclaimed.. then another team can sign him for the prorated veteran minimum and the Vikes would pick up the balance equal to his contract for the season. His contract became set after he was on a roster for week one, and even though traded his number was set.

The begs the question.. would Moss sign for anything less than what he wants and the length that he wants? Or just sit out and collect the balance of his 2010 salary.

Ah, I must have read whatever source incorrectly. In that case, please get through waivers so the Vikes have to pay for him where ever he goes.

Either way, two different teams have decided in the second time in a month that Moss' declining production was no longer worth all the trouble of keeping him around.

See, I can see why the Pats wanted to release him due to lack of production. But the Vikes dropping him because of it? Seriously? Holy fucking weak reporting, Batman!! No, he's been a target of Favre's passes like 3 times a game. (not sure on the average, would have to do some serious digging to find this out for sure). The Vikes released him because Chilly is a control freak and Moss doesn't like strings tugging at him.

What makes this bazaar is how they traded to get him and didn't use him. This is on Chilly. And I'm starting to get on the bandwagon that if he doesn't pull his crap together that he's gotta go.

Starting to? I know Viking fans that have wanted Chilly's nuts on the barbeque for years now. He is not head coaching material in this league, end of discussion. I know you feel compelled to defend your team's decision but let it go man, just let it go.

I think picking up Moss would be the worst move the Packers could make. Not because of his supposed malignant locker-room presence but because of what it would do to Rodgers' mentality. We've already seen how Rodgers reacts when he has a super star in his receiving corps -- he tries to force every possible pass in his direction. Why do we think it would be any different with Moss on the roster? I believe the only chance we have for a productive offense this year is for Rodgers to spread the ball out among a corps of journeyman receivers. Sure, Moss would draw double teams, but he would also increase the number of Rodgers' interceptions, which are already too high as it is.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
