That's the problem Dcube. We are SO far away from being able to fix it, it DOES seem futile.
It won't get fixed in my lifetime. That would make it easy to say "who cares then?"
I have no kids, so i don't have to worry about how life will be for them.
The same with "global warming". Plus, why should i believe them when they say that 100 years from now the earth's temperature will go up by 3 degrees, when they can't get the "5 day forecast" right?

As long as we are turning to political gripes...one of mine has always been that republicans campaign on limited government.

I understand the intent is to put the onus on individuals for personal accountability rather than relying on gvt. run programs, thus higher taxes. Obviously it's more in depth than that too...however...in adds and campaigns, it always essentially comes across as "elect me because I won't do as much!" 🙂
