I think the season is probably a lost cause. Maybe they will squeak into the playoffs, but they won't make it far if they get there. This does not appear to be their year.

Playoffs, especially if we win a game there, are always a sign of a good season. I don't care what our pre-season hype was.

Do you guys think that they're just saying this so that they will have a roster spot for the likes of Al Harris or Atari Bigby? (I'm not saying that I do believe this --and I don't.) I don't think they would do that because we need healthy DLinemen. It just seems an awful lot like we place someone on IR every time we make a roster move.

If he has potential to come back in, say, 6 weeks, I would keep him on the roster. We are SCREWED on the DLine. Especially if someone else gets injured.

So it looks like we will be living off of garbage FA's if we have to get one. Trade deadline is passed.

We are not 3-3 because of injuries. We are 3-3, because this team can't show up for more than one quarter every week. We play down to the level of shitty teams, let them hang around and then have to pull games out of our asses at the end. Which we have failed to do as often as not this year.
So if we're an underperforming team with our real starters, how will we play when we're fielding scrubs?
There is no question at all in my mind that this team still has enough talent to go all the way. It's just that they have yet to make use of all of that talent in an efficient way in MM's entire tenure. Therefore let's just say I'm not getting my hopes up.
Plus Rodgers has looked like Favre lately.

The sad thing is, we're just as close to being 1-5 as we are 6-0. The only game that we really WON instead of squeaked out with was the Bills game. All of the other ones, we hardly held onto. On the other hand, the games that we have lost, we could have also won. Just like nerdmann said, we were unable to capitalize on situations that were laid out for us for multiple reasons, be it penalties, playcalling, consecutive drops, or simply bad passes. Even through all of these injuries, we could be undefeated right now, there's no way I'll be budged on that. What it comes down to is that we have not played very many quality teams, and I hope to God that when we start on our run that we have ahead of us, we can play UP to the level of opponents, or even better, we could play to our own potential, which I believe to be one of the top teams in the NFC (which isn't saying much  )

The Redskins and Dolphins are not "shitty" teams, they are average teams. That is an important difference. And the Packers lost to them by the slimmest of margins--in overtime. Don't you think Clay Matthews, Ryan Pickett, and Jermichael Finley would've made even a one-point difference in those games? I think they would have, and the Packers would most likely be 5-1 if at least two out of those three players had not been injured.

I agree that the offense has been disappointing, even aside from the injuries. But the injuries have been very damaging, especially the Matthews injury. The best teams in the league in any given year are usually among the healthiest teams. Those same teams often decline sharply the following year if they are not so lucky. That is one of the biggest reasons why the playoff field changes so much from year to year. And the Packers are not going to be among the healthiest teams in the league this year, not even if their luck improves drastically from here on out.

Never say never, and if they can make the playoffs, anything can happen--but it probably won't.
