Im still on the back of Rodgers

I still think its fixable as he's young, even though he's been in the league for the 6th year, its only his 3rd as a starter.

I think some people's expectations of him were and are too big, maybe it has to do with wanting to stick to Favre quickly as possible or whatever but he's not Manning, he's not Brady, he's not Brees. He just plain hasn't done anything to be there. Its like Rivers too, great statistical QB but he never gets mentioned in with those guys either.

But Rodgers has time on his side and a bunch of close losses have to do with experience and in time, I assume anyway, he will win those close games and start to rise to that "level" soon but at this point, he just hasn't had success (whether thats his fault or others).

Football fans are funny, a lot of us, put too much emphasis on wins on the QB but its life. What can you do. Marino, great talent, but due to no Super Bowl, he's not rated as high. Aikman gets all this credit but a lot of that was the OL and that those teams. It doesn't really make any sense but Rodgers has to win close games and win playoff games to be in that class of Manning, Brady and Brees - which he hasn't.

As usual, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, a bunch of those close loses wern't attributable to Rodgers and the Packers screwed him and bunch of those loses, he was ONE of the reasons for the f up.

I have faith in Aaron Rodgers as he's young, smart, and driven like a madman, and has a chip on his shoulder.

For 2010, we need to fix the OL. Bigger issue.

People conveniently forget that football is a team sport. Would Montana be 4-0 in the SB if he played on da Bears' 2010 OL? Probably not. RedSox mentioned Troy Aikman and Aikman is the perfect example. Heck, the top 10 QBs of the 1990s would have won 3 SBs with that OL. Yes, that is a slap on Aikman and if anyone has a problem with it, tough. I firmly believe that.

QB is the most important position in the NFL. But you still have to have the OL block for you, the receivers to catch your throws, etc.

With credit to Belichick, he understands his QB is the best "passer" of the 2000s. He also understands that my Grandma can beat his QB in a foot race. So, he makes it an absolute priority to get him an OL.

I've been saying this for years - get Aaron behind a good line (doesn't have to be elite, just good) and Aaron will take us deep in the Playoffs, possibly a SB or two.

LOL Aikman is probably the most overrated QB around. Saw his stas the other day and couldn't believe he had Flacco like numbers. Couldn't believe he only had 1 season throwing 20 or more td's. Thats unbelievable for a HOF QB, but sorry off topic

A competent OL will serve us well. My ignorance says our OL blows.

I thought Majkowski wore #12?

No, the Majik man started off with the Packers as #5, then went to #7. He was #7 on the Lions, then #1 on the Colts.

Can somebody compare his stats to Favre's predecessor...

I'm just going to take the Majik man's Packers stats only.

He played 6 seasons and had a QB record of 22-26-1. Played 68 games and started 49 of them. Stats - 889-1607-55.3%-10870-56-56 for a 73.5 rating.

Favre, I'll just do his Packers stats. He played 16 seasons for us, starting 253 out of 255 games and amassed a QB record of 160-93-0. His Packers stats: 5377-8754-61.4%-61655-442-286 for a 85.8 rating.

Majkowski was 5 with Green Bay, gave it up right away out respect to Hornung, then took 7. Then wore 5 with the Lions and 1 with the Colts.

Edit, I was trying to double check my memory and the picture I seen.
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MajkDo00.htm

I seen a picture with him wearing 5 with the Lions, but then found another with him wearing 1.

But, the link says it's 5 Packers, 7 Packers, 7 Colts, 1 Lions.

Edit2, UserPostedImage That one is from NFL.com not sure what number he's wearing there though.
