I guess they think he's better than Lang over there, even though he's never played the position before.

So the concensus, at least so far, seems to be that Bulaga has Darryn Colledge Syndrome, i.e., he ain't worth a darn if he's not playing at his preferred position. I hope you guys are right and that next year Bulaga can take over at left tackle and anchor the position for 10-12 years. But I'm doubtful that this is the problem.

Is it really THAT hard to step back with your right foot when you are used to stepping back with your left foot? And if it is so hard to play different positions on the line, why don't teams dress 10 linemen for each game, so they will have an exact substitute at each position in case of injury?

Yes it is that hard. The first step of a tackle is critical.

Throw a ball left handed if you are right handed. How easy is that?

This is true. No question about it. I'm not ready to panic - I have confidence in him!

Bulaga has two starts. Colledge has over 50. I think people need to slow down with their worries.

Furthermore, the five sacks is a bit misleading. I would say at least two (probably three) were on Rodgers. He bails out of the pocket way too early. I have no idea why. Well, I know he doesn't have confidence in his line, so he has happy feet because of that, but a couple of those were just ridiculous. Honestly, I thought one of those plays was a designed run.

Rodgers needs better pocket presence. Yes, the pass protection is to blame for Rodgers' lack of confidence in them, but they aren't to blame all the time.

All in all, I'm happy Bulaga is matching up with Ray Edwards next week and not Allen Babre or Daryn Colledge. I think that's the best way to put it.

Indicative of our injury situation.

Indeed. It's sardonically amusing to see an OLman on the DL, though I guess his versatility is encouraging in some ways.

So taking a step with your left foot is just as hard, if you are right handed, as throwing a ball with your left hand? I don't buy it.

Er, wait a minute, it's not even that. The right tackle steps with his RIGHT foot first anyway, as opposed to his left. So maybe Bulaga is left handed? Or left footed? Gosh, this is confusing.

I still think Bulaga stunk today and didn't look so good last week either. Hopefully he improves. It's just not a promising start for his career.

I sat in Lambeau field yesterday and witnessed in real life how pathetic the Packers offensive line really is.
I know Bulaga is a rookie and all but he looks very bad at right tackle perhaps the coaching staff has him playing in the wrong place.
I would like to see them try Lang in that spot because it is clear Bulaga isn't doing the job.
But then it's clear the whole o-line is pretty damn bad.

I love the idea that, given the overall quality of our OL play on the side of the line that the team pays them for, the Packer coaching staff thinks they are going to help on the other side of the line.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

beast (30-Dec) : Win or Loss, the NFCS is going down to week 18
Mucky Tundra (30-Dec) : if the Falcons win, how does that affect the overall NFC playoff picture? Does it mean that the NFC South comes down to week 18?
