I thought Bryan Bulaga was bad in his first start last week, but someone who knows a lot more than I do (Cliff Christl) said he played well, so I kept my mouth shut. This week he looked even more awful than he did last week. I'll be interested to hear what the experts say this time.

We had been hearing that Bulaga was NFL ready, but my eyes are telling me a different story. Is he going to be another Jon Michaels? (First round tackle from 1996 who didn't pan out.) It's too soon to tell, of course, but a player with Bulaga's credentials should be able to at least play decently as a rookie. It's true that he's been up against a couple of good pass rushers and he hasn't gotten much help, but good tackles are supposed to neutralize good pass rushers. Bulaga has been getting schooled repeatedly, and he's had a lot to do with these two close losses. As for run blocking, it's hard to tell if he's any good because they never run to his side. His run blocking will be beside the point anyway if he can't even slow down the league's better pass rushers.

I think he did OK. Right is not the same at the Left. After years of drop stepping one side it takes a while to get the muscle memory changed.

This is what has concerned me with guys switching sides. I would have prefered Lang in what I ahve seen. Leaving Bulaga on the Left. Unless they play this as long term move. Then it is just a matter of getting use to the change in sides.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I was wondering the same thing...but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt being a rook switching positions.

And to be honest, this probably is a good time to get him some experience.

He's playing a position that (to my knowledge) he has never played.

He gave up 2 sacks. One of which he had Wake blocked well, but when Rodgers tried to escape the pocket underneath of him, Wake got off the block and tripped him up.

It's only is 2nd start to a position he has never played. No need to panic.

He looked great in relief of Cliton at LT, but has seemingly struggled playing RT with numerous pressures and penalties given up. Hopefully it's just him adjusting to the right side.

Um, he is a rookie. He has an awful lot to learn. Up till now he has been all hype. I think he will be fine, but I wouldn't expect a probowler, yet.
