They could of spiked it with about 10 seconds. Ran even a QB sneak or Kuhn up the middle and made it even a 50-yard attempt. Every inch counts and this is the second time something like this happen. A few years back, they did the same thing in the Minnesota game. Crosby missed that one too.

No they couldn't have run another play because they had no more time outs.. If they would have QB sneaked it the quarter would have been over.

They had one more timeout left.

EDIT

My bad. They did burn the last timeout because Rodgers didn't run out of bounce. That's partly on him. Football is all about situations and Rodgers has not handled crucial situations well in his career. I think we can all see a disturbing pattern with that.

Rodgers is a clutch player. He's got the best career 3rd down % in league history and in the red zone he's like 44:1 in TD/INT ratio. No QB can get it done when he's getting crushed.
But he did make a mistake on that drive. Get out of bounds. Then, run another play.
DD had like 4 drops today. Jones had 3, iirc. The offense lost this game, plain and simple.

You base clutch on his red zone TD/Int ratio? Makes little sense to me.

I have to agree with Porky. He just hasn't been that amazing in OT or late game comebacks.

And it's not all on him. He's been facing some bad luck. A lot of non-calls. His O-line hasn't helped him. His defense has given away a lot of the leads we had.

Thing is, though, when we do get in that situations, the team as a whole just doesn't come through, including Rodgers. The way it ended again today just adds to that legacy. I'm hoping we can turn it around.

Good QBs play within the system.

Great QBs elevate the guys around him.

I don't see it with Rodgers, when it's crunch time. Maybe in time, but so far I don't.

People are talking about Rodgers scramble but your missing another big point. They wasted like 10 secs before they even called the time out. That pissed me off, it showed like their heads weren't in the game. I don't know if that was on Rodgers or MM, but it seems at the end of the games this year we end up playing like we have no clue.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Time management hasn't been one of our strong points so far.

I know what you mean. Rodgers makes a horrible decision by staying in bounds. Then he wisely gets up in an attempt to spike the ball (0:30 left), everyone nearly gets into position and then, for some reason, we call the TO (0:24 left). I don't know at which point Rodgers slid down, but I asume we had at least 0:32 left on the clock. Those are a precious 8 seconds you're wasting for absolutely no reason.

As for Crosby... I did notice that I regained a lot of trust in him. I was feeling pretty good about any kind of kick under 61 yards.

Then he missed two kicks.

I really can't get worked up about it anymore. It's just hard to get a read on him. On one side, he's this guy with an amazingly strong leg who has all the upside in the world. On the other side, he's been kicking for a below-average percentage his entire career now. He misses some very makeable kicks.

I think Rodgers stayed in because he thought they'd get lined up for the spike right away and felt the extra 7 yards was worth a few second. Then Mike called the time out which didn't seem to please Rodgers.

I remember seeing the Skins hold the ball on the tee during a kickoff -- damn thing kept falling off. I'm guessing that was the wind. Man, that kick was so damn close.
