I don't really like the way McCarthy uses Crosby. It seems that he relies on him to make 45+ FGs consistently which is really hard for any kicker to do. Crosby has played better this year than last, but it seems like MM expects him to always make really long FGs. I just wish we were going to strike for more TDs than rely on 45+ yard field goals.

Kickers prefer to pad their stats by playing for dome teams. Cold weather teams like Green Bay are hard for kickers, especially when they are routinely kicking longer FGs than most.

Agreed. I thought you were blaming the kicker for the loss, before I opened this thread.

I agree. They had one more play in them before they attempted that kick. Rodgers spiking the ball like he did was ridiculous. He wasted at least four or five seconds before he spiked the ball. Not sure if that was his call or McCarthy's, but whoever decided to do that, made a huge mistake IMO.

They could of spiked it with about 10 seconds. Ran even a QB sneak or Kuhn up the middle and made it even a 50-yard attempt. Every inch counts and this is the second time something like this happen. A few years back, they did the same thing in the Minnesota game. Crosby missed that one too.

You know, you have to put your players in the right position to succeed. They did not do that for Crosby at the end. They left one play on the field.

No they couldn't have run another play because they had no more time outs.. If they would have QB sneaked it the quarter would have been over.

No, I'm just saying that we seem to back off a little bit. I don't have any facts to support this, but I'm just giving my opinion.

forget the spike, why didn't rodgers run out of bounds at the end of his scramble?
he runs out of bounds there, we've got the same field position with 28 or so seconds left plus a timeout.

I'm glad this topic wasn't another crosby flamer though. we put him in a tough position on that one, and he nearly made it. did you see how well he hit that?? dude could hit like a 68 yarder with leg like that.

EDIT

My bad. They did burn the last timeout because Rodgers didn't run out of bounce. That's partly on him. Football is all about situations and Rodgers has not handled crucial situations well in his career. I think we can all see a disturbing pattern with that.
