I'm with Kevin. The best kind of celebration is the kind that Barry Sanders did.

I wish every time a player started a dance (and, yes, this includes Driver), the director in the network truck would instantly switch to a cheerleader shot.

I don't mind watching people in spandex dance.

As long as they are female.

I think they do their celebration thing to 1)keep the intensity up when they're doing well and 2)to help raise the intensity a little when they're not playing well and need a boost.

I have no problem with either, though I do prefer Driver, Matthews, and Rodgers' move much more than Barnett's and Raji's. That's just a matter of taste though. If it helps them, even in the smallest way, to keep up or raise the intensity I'm all for it. Whatever works.

One thing that I reflected on last night that I love about baseball is that the players do not have any celebrations. They don't even acknowledge the crowd! I love this, because they are completely in the game, and FOCUS is the only thing on their minds. I wish that football could be more like this sometimes. I enjoy when the Packers players do this from time to time, but I get tired of it sometimes even when the Packers do it, let alone players from other teams. I think what bugs me the most is when the player runs away from where the play took place, into the open field, just to do their move. It isn't quite as bad with ARod doing the belt celebration right where he is standing, but when they have to run to the point of maximum exposure, it is obvious that there is a problem with where their head is at.

Handing the ball to the official, jogging to the sideline ala Sanders is safe, acceptable and likely to be remarked upon in a positive manner.

I still think though, that celebrations can be a good thing purely on a situational basis.

I think Barnett's timing is off.
