It's a good thing we have a solid system in place and draft a lot of players to fit that system. We are definitely thin in areas, but I sometimes wonder if everyone around here thinks there is this magical place where replacement football players can be obtained.

I want to see what Nance and Starks have before I cry about not getting a character flawed Marshawn Lynch.

I never liked Barnett, so I am hoping Bishop's ass can cash the checks his mouth writes.

Remember gentlemen the degree of success anyone has is measured by what they overcome, not driving a completed loaded car to a Super Bowl title. Despite the injuries, we still have a very talented roster.

Ummmmm...Michael Lewis is an aged, in-the-box safety who, when young, could not run. How, exactly, does that help this team.

I agree that Nance has a chance to help, and they drafted Starks for a reason. Many scouts suggested that Starks may be a huge steal....if he can stay healthy. Let's see.......

Like Dakota said....time for Bishop to put up or shut up. Dude can make some plays, but als whiffs with regularity. Time will tell.

Jesus you guys lost all hope.Ill stay positive for you guys since none of you lately seem to think we are gonna get far without 3 guys lost.

Some comments up there about us beating a bad Philly team,a bad Detroit team etc.etc. Stop it now thats just a badly over used term with some not so great teams.

Look it is not easy winning in the NFL it is harder than you think.
Ill tell you right now no team in the NFL is easy to beat even the bills.
Examples here:First Philly when kolb went down a 3 time pro bowl QB came in and almost beat us but we stoped vick on 4th down and won the game it wasnt easy but we did it.

The bills in the 2nd Qtr made a nice drives on us and made it a 1 score game but in the 2nd half we won the game still by holding them to only 1 score.

The lions game, we scored many times in the 1st half they have a better team and many weapons on offense so they can throw on us so they did but in the end in the 4th qtr we helded them twice to field goals and made them punt and we drove the ball down the field to win.

The point is it is never easy to win in the NFL no givin team is gonna say its easy to beat a team no team will. But good teams find a way to win we did find a way to win 3 games we almost even beat the bears that came to play but unfortunately we killed are selfs.

Now replacing 3 guys we lost hmm so those guy make us not a playoff contender ha.
Hawk is overlooked on this forum and has played well the last few games the former 1st round pick can fill in for us.

Brandon jackson Hey hasn't played great but is improving each week I saw improvement in the lions game. And lets remember he was a 3rd down back for 2 years it could be harder to transition to a starter than it looks. And john kuhn hasnt played HB since college and he looks like a thumper and made some good runs thus far.

Maybe the S position is hard to replace but untill bigby comes back martin is probably are guy.Martin is a underrated player on the team he is a tough player for his size and plays very good on ST.None the less he has played better in coverage I didnt really see him get beat when he replaced burnett.I think he could surprise us.

But guys its a long season do not think were done because were not, other than those 3 guys we got good guys on our team that can step up.

If any of you still think we can't make the playoffs or anywhere.

Ill still have hope for this team no matter what.

Most players available at this time at best come in as depth. None are starters. Best option is Lewis at SS IMO.

Whom says we are sitting tight?

Even in leaving and in some frustration, John Scheinder mentioned that they were constantly putting deals together.. just according to John account, Ted didn't see the value in the deal to get it done.

Now does Ted overvalue his picks, players or plan.. that is debatable.

Looking at the terms of the Lynch deal and reportedly what we offered.. a player in place of a late round pick.. I would disagree and probably sweeten it a bit.. but I don't know the communication flow, the timing of the back and forth and the hesitations Ted held in the deal. This much I trust.. the NFL security docket of players is far more detailed then the public records we know of a player.. Lynch has enough publicly known issues.. there might be something in the NFL files that tipped the scales more.

We are in week 4, we have player in most cases that can fill in.. and we have two weeks before the deadline.. lets not write that chapter closed yet.

That said.. I am not banking on a blockbuster type deal in the terms of help via Ted's track record.

Michael Lewis wants out of San Fran. Maybe we put a package together to pick him up?

Can we stop with the 3-1 talk. We beat the Bills who may go winless, and barely beat Philly and Detroit. This is a very ugly 3-1. We have a difficult schedule ahead and if we can add weapons to our team I wouldn't mind mortgaging some of our future to guarantee us a playoff spot. I'm not overly convinced we are a playoff team at this point.

The Saints are an ugly 3-1. The Colts are an ugly 2-2. The Bears are a hideous 3-1. Baltimore -- regarded as one of the best teams in the league right now -- is 3-1 despite scoring only 6 points more than their opponents this year.

Find me more than a handful of "good" teams with "good" record through four weeks and I'll kick dirt in your direction, because you sir, are a liar.

Yeah, yeah, we're 3-1 despite playing our best ball. The thing is, at the end of the season there won't be any qualifications -- you win 10 games, you're a 10 game winner; win 12 you're a 12 game ... you get where this is going.

Ill add another thing,

We still have playmakers that help us win on defense.

Charles Woodson,Nick Colins,Tramon Williams,Cullen Jenkins,BJ Raji,Ryan Pickett,Clay Mathews,Brad Jones,Frank Zombo,AJ Hawk.

All these guys contibuted this season we still have a lot of good players and some even haven't shown what they are made of,Mike Neal came off of an injure and played well and Forced a Fumble.

That is what I think is amazing about how Ted built our team to have good to great players at so many positions, yet he receives little credit for such a great team. Still, Barnett was the leader of the defense and altough AJ has been playing GREAT these past weeks I am extremely worried about our defense without Nick.

and we sit tight?

how many dudes do we have to lose before we make a play for someone decent?

Why is it that all these other teams seem to grab players that can obviously contribute. Look at the jets and ravens pickups this season.

Heck our Dline is paper thin also now atm and at the beginning of the season it was looking quite full:
- we didnt know about jolly
- harrel was still a possibility
- neal was healthy
- jenkins didnt have a broken hand (although he's still playing well)

My 2 questions are
- when is bigby coming back? ... I admit burnett was starting to grow on me and I think perhaps he might turn out to be better then bigby.

- So far Im not satisfied with jackson; I think we need more of a power runner. Why kuhn seems to be doing fairly well although; he's pretty much just all strength and we need someone with a bit of finese also.

Just so I don't go off on the wrong thought. What moves by the Jets and Ravens are you speaking of this season. And are they moves that we would have wanted to make or positions that we had no need to be making plays on? Are the Packers problems the same as both of those teams? Unless they are then comparing any moves by other teams is pointless because it has no direct bearing tothe Packers own issues.
