Running back AHMAD BRADSHAW of the New York Giants, cornerback CHARLES WOODSON of the Green Bay Packers and kicker MATT BRYANT of the Atlanta Falcons are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the fourth week of the 2010 season (October 3-4), the NFL announced today.

OFFENSE: RB AHMAD BRADSHAW, NEW YORK GIANTS

* Bradshaw rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown in the Giants 17-3 win over previously unbeaten Chicago.
* He had a career-high 23 carries (5.6 yards per carry) and registered the second-highest single-game rushing total of his career.
* The performance was the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career.
* He added two catches for 14 yards and finished with 143 scrimmage yards.
* Bradshaw currently ranks second in the NFC with 382 rushing yards and is tied for third with three rushing touchdowns.
* In his fourth season from Marshall, this is Bradshaws first career Player of the Week Award.
* He is the fifth running back in team history to be named Offensive Player of the Week, joining TIKI BARBER, RODNEY HAMPTON, JOE MORRIS and DERRICK WARD.

DEFENSE: CB CHARLES WOODSON, GREEN BAY PACKERS

* Woodson had a career-high 14 tackles and returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown in the Packers 28-26 win over Detroit. He also had three passes defensed.
* The interception-return touchdown accounted for the winning points and he helped seal the victory by making the final three defensive stops one tackle and two passes defensed on the Lions last possession.
* Woodsons interception-return touchdown was the 10th of his career and he joined Pro Football Hall of Famer ROD WOODSON (12) and DARREN SHARPER (11) as the only players in NFL history with 10 INT-TDs.
* Woodson has eight INT-TDs and nine defensive TDs with the Packers, both franchise records.
* He has now posted an interception-return touchdown in five consecutive seasons, the only player in league history to accomplish that feat.
* In his 13th year from Michigan, this is Woodsons fourth career Player of the Week Award. He won twice in 2009 (Weeks 10 and 12).
* Woodsons four Defensive Player of the Week Awards are the most defensive honors in franchise history. Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end REGGIE WHITE was honored three times with the Packers.

SPECIAL TEAMS: K MATT BRYANT, ATLANTA FALCONS

* Bryant converted all three field-goal attempts, including the game-winner from 43 yards in the Falcons 16-14 win over San Francisco.
* It marked the second game-winning field goal for Bryant in as many weeks as he kicked a 46-yarder in overtime to beat New Orleans in Week 3.
* Bryant finished with 10 points, making field goals from 37, 31 and 43 yards.
* He leads the NFL in scoring with 39 points and is tied for the league lead with 10 field goals.
* In his eighth season from Baylor, this is Bryants fifth career Player of the Week Award and first with the Falcons. He previously won twice with both the New York Giants (Weeks 3 and 11, 2002) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 7, 2006 and Week 4, 2008).
* Bryant is the first Falcons kicker to be honored since MORTEN ANDERSEN in 2007 (Week 10).

2010 NFC Defensive Players of the Week

* Week 1 S Adrian Wilson, Arizona
* Week 2 LB Clay Matthews, Green Bay
* Week 3 LB DeMarcus Ware, Dallas
* Week 4 CB Charles Woodson, Green Bay

Other nominees for NFC Offensive Player of Week 4:

* St. Louis rookie quarterback SAM BRADFORD, who passed for 289 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams 20-3 win over Seattle.
* Philadelphia running back LE SEAN MC COY, who had 174 scrimmage yards, including 12 receptions for 110 yards in the Eagles 17-12 loss to Washington.
* Washington quarterback DONOVAN MC NABB, who led the Redskins to a 17-12 victory over the Eagles in his return to Philadelphia.
* Atlanta wide receiver RODDY WHITE, who had seven catches for 104 yards and forced a fumble to set up the game-winning drive.

I'm a little surprised that he got this actually. The TD was obviously an attention grabber, but so much of the remainder of the impact he had on the game on Sunday doesn't show up on a stats sheet, so I'm really excited that others noticed that!

ya from what I watched of the game; woodson seemed to always be around the ball tripping up RBs or taking down a receiver.

Even with getting away with that pass interference or illegal contact on the Lions last 3rd down play to Calvin Johnson?

Lol, j/k

Also check this:

"On Detroit's final series, one of the key plays in that drive was first-and-10 at the 38-yard line. It's a running play to the right for Jahvid Best and it's extremely well blocked at the point of attack. On the outside, Calvin Johnson is blocking Charles Woodson and he's doing a good job - right until Best approaches and then Woodson yanks away from Johnson and dives at Best and stops him for a 1-yard gain. If Johnson completes that block, Best gets seven or eight yards at the very least. Not only does that set up a second-and-short and maybe a third-and-short for a first down, but now they're already in acceptable field goal range."
