I went with "the Lions are a much improved team." Heck, I could complete a pass to Calvin Johnson. That guy is a stud, and easily one of the top 5 WRs in the NFL. That pass from Hill to Johnson that went over Woody was absolutely perfect. NOBODY could have defended that.

Two major problems though - the 2 fumbles that Jordy had led to a quick 6 points by the Lions.

The other is our D was on the field all day long. You can blame the O for scoring too fast but that's almost silly. Aaron in the 2nd half threw 2 INTs but one INT I blame on Gregorious instead of Aaron. You shouldn't let a CB steal the ball from you.

So I say don't panic. We're still ironing out our problems. We have them. So does every team after 4 games. If we're like this after game 8, then panic.

If one thing really bothered me about the game, it's the injury to our S. I don't like to see one of our starters get injured for the season.

4th option. the play calling both offensively and defensively when we get a lead is a problem.

The amount of yardage the defense gave up was troubling. However, they were on the field for nearly the entire second half and held the Lions to a pair of field goals in the fourth quarter. I can not pin any blame on the defense.

They definitely have issues to address. Some of it was just poor play that we probably won't see throughout the season. Example - Greg Jennings getting beat twice in single coverage for INTs. The second was a great play by the DB, but Jennings should have at least broken up the pass on the first one. We've heard repeatedly that our offense loves those one-on-one battles and trusts the WRs to make the play. Jennings failed to do so twice.

My second issue, with Capers, is two-fold. First off, he had no answer for the delayed routes by RBs and TEs that absolutely gashed the defense. Secondly, and please tell me if I'm off base here, but I am TIRED TIRED TIRED of these sub packages. I thought the entire purpose of having a big 3 in the 3-4 was to eat up blockers to help with the pass rush. How the hell are our blitzes supposed to get to the QB when we have 1 or 2 down linemen pushing? It seemed like every time we had 3 big guys on the line, a positive play happened. This would help explain why the Packers reportedly performed so poorly on defense in long down and distance situations, when the nickel variations saw the field. I also realize that Capers showed more 3-4 this week than in the 3 prior weeks (combined?), but I think that was a result of him realizing what I'm complaining about. I'm not saying abandon the sub packages entirely. I just want to see more 3-4. Raji/Pickett/Jenkins/Neal are all quality guys that I want to see on the field more.

Saying that, a win is a win. I'll take it. They have issues to address, which is a good thing. Time to evolve and improve as a team.

You bring up a good point there about the defense. When we were in the 3-4 defense we generated more pass rush.To be honest I don't like the 2-4-5 defense it is effective on blitzes sometimes but it sometimes creates no pass rush at all,We play it to much.

I went with "lions are better than people think".

I feel much less negative than I did after the bears game, actually.

Something about that last possession, where they dominated at the line like I want, at a moment when its absolutely critical to dominate, makes me feel better.

Oh, there are still problems (and I am definitely not off the OL dead horse yet). But I'm more optimistic this week.

It doesn't matter if the Lions are better (which they are) because we still played horribly.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I almost picked #3, but went with #2 instead. The Lions are much improved, and should probably be 2-2 vice 0-4, but we're still the better team and should have played like it.

- Pass rush was good, but it got us killed on screens and slants.
- Secondary was terrible. Where were our safeties when the Lions were throwing one pass after another into the flat?
- Special teams were special. Not the good special; the short-bus special.
- Running game still sucks. Less than 100 yards against the Lions? Eventually we're going to face a team with a decent defense and they'll kill us by taking away our one dimension.

Not impressed. Not at all.
