agreed! people who our worryd about are running game are being dum.

I'm intrigued by Starks. The linked highlight video showed some promise, speed, good vision, and acceleration .. mind you against mediocre competition, but none the less, I think it's premature or dumb to be worried about our running game this soon.

It behooves me why so many seem to be against any type of discussion of upgrading our running game. Our running game is the worst in the division why not try and address that? It is great to point out that other teams have won with mediocore running games, but so what, other teams have won with mediocore QBs and I don't see anyone advocating we get rid of Rodgers. SuperBowls are played in pass happy venues, getting there means being able to play in any venue. The Saints and Colts (examples always used) play in a Dome under perfect conditions so the focus on running doesn't need to be there if they can win the Conference and have home field. We are not so lucky.

Not a lot of addressing to do with the running back market being what it is. I guess we could try trading for Jason Snelling, but with Turner being so injury prone, I'm not sure the Falcons will trade him.

Falcons lost their backup RB already, they won't be trading any RB ... my opinion.

When we win the SB this year without much of a running game, I think the doubters all owe me and Finley +1s.

We have another poster drinking the pass happy only kool aid.. damn that must be a tasty.

We have a problem, not a death blow, in the lack of balance in the offense, and we are making it far too easy for the opposing defensive coordinator.

That is not all on the shoulders of Jackson nor Kuhn.. but it is a team issue at this point.. and very similar to last season in that we ignored the run early then found our stride in balance offensively and we took off.

Some of this falls on MM and his addiction to the passing game and his QB mentality.. some of it is we just haven't seen the success on the ground yet which pushes MM back to his pass happy nature.

That answer may be adding talent at RB or someone convincing MM to establish the running game early in games.. even if we submit to a Bart Starr style of attack.. (run, run, pass).. at least until we hit our stride and the defenses respect the run, if nothing more than pausing their defensive line for a beat.

The frustrating part is this is the same issue from last season manifesting itself again this season.. throwing the running game to the wind and assisting the pass rush. Insanity. Pathetic. Concerning in the nature that you fashion a gent like MM as a thinker and student of the game.. someone that learns from his mistakes... anyway.. I have faith that sooner or later we will be forced into that balance.. I just hope Aaron is still healthy when we figure it out.

You could pick up babes without owning a Ferrari. A Ferrari though certainly helps.

The best RBs last year where Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson. They helped their respective teams, no doubt.

The best QBs last year were Brees, Manning, and Favre. All 3 of them got to the CG. 2 of them got to the SB. One of them won it.

I'm a historian, Finland. I analyze trends. Passing is the current trend. Running is nice to have. Not necessary though.

Hey, I agree with you 100%. If you have a top 3 QB and a strong defense you don't need a running game.

Like Walter Cherepinsky says to consistently win in this day's NFL you need three things:
1) Franchise QB
2) Protect that QB
3) Harrass the other team's QB

Why in the hell do you want to help a DC and world class athletes by making your offense one dimensional and predictable at the LOS and in the blocking assignments?

You are giving them the advantage that should be yours.. letting them dictate to you.

This is why you hate 3rd and longs.. it makes the defensive's concerns parred down by 50%.. and allows them to dictate to you in protection schemes because they can call blitzes without much concern..

Instead.. we should be making them as a defensive club adjust to us when we have the ball... force them to at least look for the run and not put as much edge pressure on the tackles and force us to make blitz pickups on just about every down...

Balance.. Balance.. BALANCE! At least some of it for the good of my health. 😉
