Who has the better contract?

Rodgers seems like he gets more on the ball over the middle. The furthest ive seen him throw is around 65-70 yards similar to Cutler. Cutler has a little more wobble on his ball though but it seems like off one leg he gets a lot on his throws then you'd typically say. But as throwing the faster line drive pass my eyes tell me Rodgers has more velocity.

@Porky:

Thank you, that is really what I wanted to say; that Rodgers has been way more consistent than Cutler. Period.

How is this a legitimate topic for discussion. Any QB is going to look fantastic in a new high-powered offense, until defenses have enough tape to properly prepare (Broncos first 6 games last year). Although not as nearly polished, you can argue Cutler matches Rodgers' physical skill. The pit fall with Cutler is the "train wreck." Get him rattled some way and he self-destructs.

Clearly you can't compare a two game performance with a two-year body of work, but even if you could, the Bears can have Jay Cutler as far as I'm concerned.

I will pass on making judgments because it's a whole new offense scheme for Cutler, while Rodgers has only been in one system and thats all he knows. It will be interesting to see what Cutler is like in a few years with Martz at OC. Look what it did for the likes of Kurt Warner and Marc Bulger.

Rodgers I believe has peeked and is starting to get some bad habits it seems like. He seems to be forcing balls into Finley and really only has played one good 1/2 of football this year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

A couple years ago, Cutler was ahead of Rodgers because he was actually playing, and he looked like one of the best young QBs in the league. He's had some problems since then, but I don't think it is laughable to compare him to Rodgers.

Cutler has a lot of skills. What's hurt him is not having a lot of talent around him, plus poor decision-making. The first one is definitely fixable (though I don't know that the Bears have fixed it yet) and the second one may be fixable. We'll see.

Too right about Rodgers (MVP my ass). However the Bears offense will cool down and with it Cutler's play/attitude.

Cutler is nowhere near as accurate as Aaron.
His mechanics are not as sound, and are based on raw ability(ala old number 4)than actual fundamentals.

Aaron is fundamentally sound, throws w/pinpoint accuracy, and his motion is quick/compact.

Jay's motion is all over the place. He does get the ball out quick just on his ability. When his physical skills erode, his velocity will erode faster than Aarons' because he depends so much on his muscle than technique.

Aaron throws just as hard a ball as Jay does. That ball to Greg Jennings in the end zone was as hard as you can throw it. I compare Aaron's hardest ball to Michael Vick's ball. They throw lasers. Cutler can throw lasers too, but I think his ball can flutter.

They are not comparable quarterbacks. Aaron's way more efficient and has the same rocket arm. Jay's more gunslinger and more wild. They are apples/oranges.

If you want to compare apples to apples...

Aaron is a bigger, stronger, faster, younger version of Drew Brees. Jay is somewhere between Brett and Jeff George. He probably will end up RIGHT in the middle.

Plus I agree.
I don't think Aaron's an MVP candidate yet.
There's too much PRE-talk about him being in the same class as
Manning/Brady.

Let the team win a RING.
Let them win the division.
Let them beat freakin FARVE.
Let them beat New Orleans.

THEN we can talk MVP.

It's too early. He's a good young QB. But the news overhypes and
overstates expectations.

I also think saying Aaron has peaked is also premature.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.

Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
