FEAR THE RODGERS!

Do you agree with Mike? I do, and I also agree that Jimmy Graham could be a helluva weapon for the Packers, even if he isn't targeted more than half dozen times a game.

As the 2018 NFL draft approaches, the Green Bay Packers seem to be in a state of flux.

In mid-March, they released Jordy Nelson, Aaron Rodgers' best weapon and close friend. In January, they fired Alex Van Pelt, his quarterbacks coach. And Rodgers himself is coming off of a devastating injury.

All of this seems contrary to the notion that Rodgers will have an explosive comeback in 2018. Yet sources from several teams tell me they're more afraid of Rodgers than ever.

In fact, they think Rodgers will return with a vengeance this season. They think this will be his season. They think he'll win the MVP. They think—and this is saying something, because Rodgers is both a superstar and perhaps the most gifted quarterback ever—we might see the best version of him yet.

The primary reason they highlight for this expected Rodgers resurgence? Jimmy Graham.

As one of the team sources put it, if you put a player with Rodgers' accuracy together with a player of Graham's caliber, you essentially create an NFC version of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

"The damage Aaron Rodgers could do with Jimmy Graham is scary," the source said. "It's potentially historic."

I don't know about this, it sounds a little far fetched. From what I've been reading, Graham has lost it, he's a liar and an overall terrible person and probably a pedophile too.

I also heard that the Packers are going to draft a QB in the first round and trade Rodgers for Ahmad Carroll and a 6th round draft pick that could become a 5th depending on performance.

No one that knows anything would speak to a guy from Bleacher Report, let alone Mike Freeman.

Here’s a 2015 headline Freeman did right after Hawks got Jimmy Graham:

“With Jimmy Graham, Seahawks Now Have What It Takes to Go Undefeated.” 😂😂😂

At the same time Freeman wrote this, UFFDA excoriated Ted for not being aggressive and getting Graham. So, I took some time and told all of you in depth, right here on Packershome, why Graham would not help the Hawks. And, I’ve explained in depth again why he won’t help GB and that GB’s GM got snookered-sodomized by Graham’s agent and the agent’s accomplices. Of course, if Gutekust listened to his scouts, the agent’s trickery wouldn’t have mattered.

What’s a guy, who worked at the NYT and WP, doing working at B/R? 😂 I’ll tell ya! Here’s a “journalist” that falsified his resume and got caught. This demonstrates the guy has no respect for his profession at the deepest core levels; that in his own mind his honest credentials were inadequate and that he is just DISHONEST to the core. Oh and BTW, he’s a Black dude that has blamed racism and bias for his inability to get ahead. Cant be that he’s a dishonest POS with nothing to offer, like writing talent, knowledge or inside sources.

You rant about the negative media portraying Americans in a negative light. But, you got the cart and horse reversed. The media reflects what America is. And your quoting him is exhibit #1. Americans love sensational nasty and that is why the media serves it up. This POS does nothing but negative hack jobs. Hacked on John Daly, Bobby Bowden, ESPN…etc. To him every silver lining has its cloud. He ONLY has a job because Americans CRAVE negativity and sensationalism and he brokers in them.

Think about this: Rodgers has often for large swaths of time played better than any QB in history. He could single-handedly cause GB to go 19-0 in any season. Now is this greatness dependent on any one player? Of course not! Freeman is unconnected, a douchebag and a moron.

Most important: Don’t be naïve.

Barfarn, everyone has opinions.
Yours are just that, your opinion.
To say people are dumb or naive for not agreeing with you, is wrong of you.
You like to brag when you are right, but ignore when you are wrong.
If you are SOOO much smarter then everyone here ( and across the nation) why are you not an NFL GM?
It’s easy to arm chair QB. Not so easy when your moves actually have real life consequences.
I’ll be interested to see what you have to say if Graham ends up being a big part of success in Green Bay.

Meerdink had an interesting podcast  the other day.

He says that Dez is very good in the middle of the field, between the 20s, but he tends to disappear in the red zone. Meanwhile, Aaron and Jimmy Graham are great in the red zone. Therefore he concludes that Dez would help the Packers, because he could help Aaron excel between the 20s.

I disagree with this hypothesis. Meerdink suggests Aaron struggles between the 20s "due to play calling." I hypothesize that he's not as good due to stat whoring, holding the ball to try to throw deep all the time. Once he's in the red zone, he can't throw deep, so he just tends to hit the open guy.

It's an excellent analysis, but I'm just not sure it holds. I mean, if Aaron had Dez breaking free over the middle, that might be more compelling than Gmo, Abrederis or some other scrub. But what would work even better is convincing Aaron to execute the offense, move the chains. (Maybe Philbin will help with that.)

Maybe if we can field a half decent defense Rodgers won’t feel he HAS to throw deep all the time to try to keep the team in the game.

Is Aaron Rodgers going to be great this year?
Of course he is.
Will it be because of Jimmy Graham?
I very much doubt it.
AR will be great because he will have a stable if rb's a year older
Ty Montgomery will be used all over the field.
Adams and Cobb will be great.
The only question is which of the young wr's takes Jordy's spot.
You will never convince me signing Jimmy Graham and letting Nelson, R. Rodgers and Jeff Janis go makes The Packers a better team.
That being said, when The season get a here, I hope Aaron and J.G. are unstoppable
The time to rip management and coaches is now, the off season.

The decisions will be made, the roster will be finalized, and just like every year, I will support the guys who are on that roster.

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
