Put it this way (and here I go braving that military analogy thing again), military decisionmakers got conned by the McNamara eggheads once. But did that trickle down and prevent y'all from developing and maintaining those "motivate youth" skills. Yet in higher ed, despite a record that makes McNamara look like some combination of Alexander and Frederick, with a bit of Einstein thrown in, we keep getting conned over and over.
