I was nothing but proud of what Aaron Rodgers accomplished today. I thought that even with a loss, the monkey would be off his back.

Until HE lost the game at the end.

But you know what? I'm fine. Rodgers is gonna be back next year with a more experienced offense and perhaps a better offensive line.

HE did not lose the game. He missed Jennings... You know what? It happens. He had 3 more tries. That fumble technically never should have happened. Even though it did, I in NO way fault him for it. There was NO way to escape, it was too quick to react and secure the ball, and once the ball out he was being manhandled and there's nothing he could have done to recover it. Rodgers carried the damn game, and despite the credit you gave to him, HE doesn't deserve the implication that HE lost the game. The O line, the cardinals, the refs are at fault. I can't find any in Rodgers on that play.

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet, but -

How shitty was Rodgers luck that he kicked the ball on the final play to Dansby? Guy just tries to salvage the mistake and it just gets worse. That ball could easily have hit the grou.....

Good season Pack. 2010-11 looks very promising.

A sack would've sufficed and prolonged the game.

You have to play smart in the playoffs. As smart and as great as Rodgers is, he should've done the smart thing and just taken the sack.

There's one thing a lot of people don't realise about Rodgers.

This is his second starting season and first playoff game.

How many QBs can throw for 4 TDs, run another one in and come back 21 points, in their first playoff game? It's something special, and takes a guy like Rodgers to make us forget that really, we have no business expecting so much out of a 2nd year starter. But the fact that it's Rodgers, and we do, is the ultimate respect I can pay that man. That we are so comfortable with him, that we expect such greatness irrespective of the experience he has, always being compared to Favre, is rare indeed.

That's exactly what he was trying to do. That's why Rodgers didn't throw it and some people got into that Tuck rule argument - Rodgers never went and threw the ball. He just lost his grip, which happens.

And this statement I'll agree with.

My main reason for my initial post was to establish my pride in Aaron Rodgers. This game has definitely, in my mind, established him enough to be thought of as one of the top 5 QB's in this league.

It's really unfortunate that he'll draw comparisons to Favre. I'm sorry, but even Brett Favre in his prime would never be able to bring the Packers back 21 in the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers did that, and he's the reason why this team will be contenders for the next few years.

This game was his way to make his feel. Tony Romo and Philip Rivers struggled in their first playoff outings, and I have all the confidence in the world in Aaron when he makes his return.

IMHO, when you have 45 points on the board and you still lose, the last person to place any blame on is the quarterback.
