Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has won his record-setting fourth NFL Most Valuable Player award.

Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star reports that Manning finished first in MVP voting by the 50-member Associated Press panel that chooses the award.

Manning also won the award in 2003 (sharing it with Steve McNair), 2004 and 2008. Brett Favre is the only other player to win the award three times. Five players -- Jim Brown, Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Kurt Warner and Steve Young -- have won it twice.

Manning had a career-high 68.8 percent completion rate, with 4,500 passing yards and 33 touchdowns.

Well done to him.

Well deserved. I bet the voting was close. A lot of good candidates this season.

I'm afraid the Tampa Bay game took Rodgers out of contention. I doubt even a defeat of the Steelers would have been enough to give him a serious chance.

Well deserved. He was my pick all along. I think that he showed just how good he is when Curtis Painter went into the game and they lost bigtime against all kinds of teams.

Good for him. He deserved it. It'll be interesting to see who else received votes.

Damn.

Oh, it's hard to argue with the choice.

I just don't like Peyton Manning, and I oppose him getting awards on the general principle that he is Peyton Manning.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I thought all the int's might hold him back but good for him. To bad he usually backs it up with a playoff loss
