I include Bush in the "other guys" but since they used 5 LB or 6 DB at times I did not specifically mention him. It was the entire defense that stepped up.

I think it wasn't necessarily one guy stepping up but timing, execution, and communication. It took half the season to "get it." Besides the Steelers game, during our "hot streak," nobody got more than 14 points against us. Oh, I take that back, the Niners did but if I remember correctly, most of those points were garbage time points.
My biggest worry though is blitz timing. It seemed we got it down in the 2nd half of the season. If we can maintain it, I think we can beat anyone.
