After the game was over I was watching the Fox post game show. Mike McCarthy gave kudos to Woody for setting the Packer record for defensive TD's. The team cheered for him and started to chant "MVP" for Woody potentially being the Defensive MVP of the league.

It occurred to me that while he may be the DMVP of the NFL but he may not be the MVP on the team.

What do you think?

I'd say woodson is the MVP if not he is the Co-MVP with someone else..

If you ask me, it's a toss-up between Woodson and the D-line as a whole. Mainly Jenkins and Pickett.

Jenkins is doing such an amazing job. You know that you have a good 3-4 DE when the offense is double teaming him because of his rushing abilites. He doesn't have to work to take two guys out of the play, the OCs do it for him.

Pickett is horribly underrated. The man is absolutely amazing. He's our one-man wall. How often have we seen him work his way through a guard and a center and still get the RB down for a loss? This defense falls and stands with its NT play and Pickett is holding his own, to say the least.

But, in the end, I have to go with Woodson. Teams either go around him and just don't throw in his direction (I don't think that Flacco targeted him even once) or throw at least one pick to him and for the most part still shut down the receiver. That's absolutely amazing. And this is not only in man, this is in zone, as well. How many corners do you know who can play zone just as well as man? He also plays safety, covers TEs, covers the slot, blitzes up on the line of scrimage, shuts a receiver down with a 8 yard cushion, shuts a receiver down playing press.... It's just amazing.

And, the stats speak for themselves. Huge amount of tackles, leading the league in ints, returning 2 for TDs, forcing fumbles, just making game changing plays. He's just off the charts this year. He gets my vote.

My vote goes to Woodson, but the whole team just played fantastic.

Several team- and NFL-records were set up by Rodgers/the entire offense, Matthews had a heck of a rookie season, Jolly/Jenkins and the entire Dline played extremely well ....

With this fantastic season it is hard to get the nod to one player. GOOO PACK.

As a unit, the defensive line has carried the defense. It's really one of the better units in the league when you think about it. That's why I'd hate to see it broken up after this season. I think you have to keep Ryan Pickett around.

Woodson is the individual MVP though. Rodgers is close and really they're both irreplaceable, but Woodson has carried the defense on his back and in a lot of ways, he's assumed the leadership role on and off the field. I hope he gets defensive player of the year. He deserves it in my view. His versatility seperates him from Darrelle Revis in my view.

As much as I want to vote for Woodson, I have to vote for Rodgers. Woodson has been a beast this year. He is definitely the D MVP as well as the D Player of the Year, but Rodgers touches the ball every down on offense. The adversity of our terrible O line he had to deal with early in the season, the production he's had with his legs, the way he has taken care of the ball; all of it makes him the Packers MVP.

As others have said, what a year for the defense. Pittsburgh shows they still have a ways to go, but to shift to a 3-4 and have the T.O. ratio and rushing D that they displayed this year, ability to generate pressure on QB from lbs/corners...just a great year!

I agree w/ porky too...no way you can replace rodgers, but I'd give the nod to woody...his leadership, versatility, game changing ability, the contagious attitude he brings to the d...

If woody doesn't get DPOY, it's rigged!

God this is a brutal poll. No, not blaming the poster at all, but the simple fact that if I vote for Rodgers I'm snubbing Woody and vice versa.

Mucky Tundra (19h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (20h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (20h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (23h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
