The reason we were 6-10 last year wasn't because of Rodgers but because our D kept blowing leads.

This year, we keep leads. Thus the record change.

Rodgers has been the same Rodgers. Well, not exactly. He's improved a lot.

I agree with Vince. I think we have more to look forward to than our other NFC North teams. Cutler needs better receivers, plain and simple. Not going to happen though. I can't even remember the last time da Bears had an elite WR. I liked Willie Gault, but he was a very one dimensional WR.

Green and gold lenses aside, I'll now put us as an "elite" team. Why? It's that one magic number that I keep talking about. We're a +100 team, which puts us with the Patriots, the Colts, the Saints, the Vikings, the Eagles, and the Chargers. If you look at year by year, most SB winners were +100 teams.

Regarding O vs. D... looking at my power rankings table, our opponent-adjusted ranking for Offense is 4th. For defense it's 16th. Granted, we've given up a lot of garbage points later in games that we won, and our D has stepped up a lot more in key situations this season vs. last season. Still, you cannot discount how powerful our offense has been this year. They are scoring 6.5 points more per game than their opponents average giving up. That's nearly a touchdown, ON AVERAGE. VERY substantial. Our D is pretty much giving up the average.

But again, factoring in turnovers and situational defense (up by a lot vs. close games, etc.) our D has been solid for most of the season, and has made a difference this year.

Mass - I love stats like that. Another HUGE difference - last year we were only a +39 team. This year, we're +138. Almost always, the SB winner is a +100 team.

We had the same powerhouse O as we had last year. The difference though is this year, our D stops teams from getting in the end zone much, much more effectively.

Everyone said "Well, once Brett is gone the Packers are going to suck again", but right now this season we have a Pro Bowl Quarterback with a 10-5 record, looking at the playoffs. Quite astonishing actually. Thoughts?

ya last year I wanted to close my eyes everytime I saw our D come on ...
once every 10 plays sanders would call a blitz that even a monkey could pick up. Heck the only thing that saved our d was our secondary - but we had signs for the opposing running backs where to run and where to throw the short passes. (what was our D rush yards last year? 25th?)

Now ... whats our run stoppage at??? ya 1st baby ...

Oh that drove me nuts. It didn't matter if we blitzed one guy or 5. They'd all run into the OL like it was a brick wall and the QB would still have time to find an open receiver.
