First of all I have to say that the Steelers fans were gracious hosts, well except that one guy that said he did my wife. I gave him one of those "God your a dumbass" smirks and moved on. I don't think the Steelers are used to having their city invaded by another teams fans, but they handled it well. They have a beautiful stadium.

As for the game, well, you guys have covered things pretty well. They did not show a replay of the Mendenhall catch so I'll have to believe whoever swears it was out of bounds. The play Clay made on Roethlisberger looked like a strip/fumble live. That rule needs to be looked at again by the comp committee.

LT Starks for Pittsburgh should have had 5 more holding calls. Clay is no fluke boys, he brings it all day, and looks pretty fresh in the fourth quarter. As for the Pyscho defense, well that can go out the door with all the rest of the gimic plays. I think it is used to mask a lack of Dlinemen.

I would chalk this loss up to our young DBs letting the receivers get behind them and then not making a play on the ball. I did not walk out of there feeling we got screwed by the refs, although we could have had a few more calls. Our receivers dropped a lot of balls as well.

This loss is a bit painful. I can take solace that all we need to do is win one of the next two games. If we don't manage that, we really don't deserve to be in the playoffs anyways.

One thing I noticed that maybe you can comment on DakotaT. I really got the feeling that the Steelers play dirty; probably more than just about any other team. This observation makes me pissed about the loss more than anything else.

I also agree about the pyscho package. It is a great play to use at most once a game. If it used multiple times, then you end up with Barnett one on one with a fast WR.

I would agree with the commentators last night, who said that Bush was disrespecting Roethlisberger as a quarterback -- assuming he couldn't make the plays that deep. I hope he feels like a fool today.

Coaches need to take some blame for that also, especially since it happens repeatedly. I would have sooner seen us keep Smith than Bush.

Well, I've said my piece about the game on other topics.

I'm glad you had a good time and the fans were good hosts. That's always good to hear.

Hey DakotaT, glad to hear you had a good experience at the game! I had a fun time as well. For the most part, people were very friendly. The guy sitting next to us even gave us a heads up for things to watch for, like "Renegade" in the 4th quarter.

Did you walk down the river path on the way to the stadium? If so, did you hear the dude playing the flute? He was absolutely tapped. He'd play a song for 3-5 seconds and then stop and say, "And I go from that.. to this.." and play another song for 3-5 seconds, and then stop again and say, "And then I go from that... to this.." over and over. Hilarious. The walk back wasn't nearly as fun, past all of those bars with Steelers fans standing on the bar celebrating.

The stadium was nice, but I put Lambeau above it, and I don't think that's a biased assessment. With the atrium, the food availability, the bars... Lambeau has it beat. Plus I love bowl stadiums. And I'm really not a fan of the whole open endzone thing that Heinz and Gillette have going on one end.

Yeah I did hear the flute guy. We had to walk back to Penn Avenue for our Vallet parking at the hotel we stayed. I had to laugh when I heard Steelers and playoffs mentioned in the same sentence. I got some compliments on the abilities and toughness of our new gunslinger.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
