A Vikings loss does not help the Packers at this point.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

Really? Because it put a smile on my face and I don't care about what helps the Packers at this point. If the Packers can't help themselves, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

So, it might not have helped the Packers. It helped me. 🙂 BIG :)

Ditto. Along with the Bears big loss. Fun stuff. At least 2/3rds of the night was good.

It looks to me like the Vikings are starting to come apart at the seams.

1. Their QB going into his late season swoon.
2. Dissension between QB and coach.
3. Their great running back all of a sudden looks less than average.
4. Their defense looking below average against an inexperienced QB

I sure enough would like to get a shot at them in the playoffs. Even under the best of circumstances it is difficult to hang 3 losses on a divisional rival in a season.

Now, if Chilly were smart and used some tact, he could have explained that he wanted to give Brett a breather for a play or two during the next few drives and give the Panthers a different look at QB.. I'm 100% positive Favre wouldn't have had a problem.

Favre is failing them big time right now. Peterson played amazing again last night, giving them a great running game. The Vikings defense played inspired football practically shutting down the Panther running game and their young quarterback all night. I put this one on Favre. Yea there were drops all night but hey, Brett has to overcome that.

You being arcastic?

cuz this is what the Brett lovers are saying

Defense should be in hotel room finishing their jerking to porn and Peterson sucks

The only guy that showed up to play was Brett - that was a disgrace

The whole team played poorly tonight (two out of the last three games). If he didn't have the meaningless pick, Favre would have had a 92.5 QB rating, with the pick 73.7 QB rating. Now, we'll probably hear talk about Favre in December all week even though the whole team played poorly. Favre isn't allowed to have off nights like other QBs by the media.

The defense looked horrible. Defenses just double team Allen and nobody else does much. Winfield had a particularly bad game. Unlike last week, he looked like a guy that has missed a lot of time. There was no run game again.

Last one was by a HUGE supporter of not using stats for Rodgers yet uses the rating for Brett?

Didn't Matt Moore throw for 300 yards? Stewart had over 100 on the ground?

I'd say he was being sarcastic 🙂

yea, definitely was being sarcastic. peterson and the line were straight shit. the defensive line was straight shit. antoine winfield was shit. the pass coverage was worse than shit. pass protection was horrible. i wanted to hobble that left tackle after julius peppers pancaked brett favre. i mean really, how many times can a 40 year old guy be expected to take monster hits like that and get up like he did and does.

I hate the Vikings so much right now for how shitty they are performing and it's obvious that it is very unlikely the vikings will win a superbowl this year with this cast of underacheiving ass wipes.

I say this because I know how a lot of times Chilly tends to use a negative degree of tact. He needs some Dale Carnagie training or something. I don't know what Favre is thinking, but if Chilly said what I think he said.. I still stand very strong with my first post.

Another non-performance by the Vikings on Sunday Night. At this rate, I don't want to see them play on another Nationally televised game this year (unfortunately next week is on Monday Night). It was (again) uninspired play vs. inspired play. Against a good Arizona team I can see.. But against a beat up badly Carolina team (including missing their starting QB, RB, both OTs).. There's no excuse.

And other Viking fans wonder why I'm only taking it week by week and completely blowing off any playoff/Super Bowl talk..

Formo - You've been doing the right thing this whole season and I have to give you thumbs up for your attitude with it all.

You know that I still see Favre as my favorite player but after watching him collapse in the end of the season every season since '05, my expectations for him aren't exactly very high. I was hoping he'd crack 30 TDs this year but now it's looking not very likely. He looked awful yesterday.

What really has me confused is what's with AP? AP's past four games have been bad, with some being really bad.

I still think the combination of our Oline leaking what type of play it is (run/pass) and the lack of effort is killing AP's game. Again it seemed the Panthers knew what type of play it was, run vs. pass.. Every run I remember last night, Peterson was being hit at or behind the line of scrimmage.. ALOT. I.. Just don't know.

Again, I'm taking it one game at a time. I just got done arguing with someone who hates Favre, and puts the entirety of the Vikings 3 losses on him, and praises the team when they win. I'm burnt out with this past week.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?

wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
