I would say franchise Kampman and trade him at draft day for a pick or some help in the 3-4 D. We're doing pretty darn good without his presence unless and a big unless he wants to sign for less to stay on the team. Then it would be bad behalf his game and our team.

It wouldn't make much sense to franchise a player who is rehabbing a torn ACL. He won't be worth that much money, not knowing how he'll recover, and nobody would take him in a trade.

So you just let him walk free??
You sign him and trade him for the BEST offer...

You don't want to franchise Kampman. We'd be giving a guaranteed contract for around $9 million to an injured player who doesn't fit our scheme. Especially with all the guys that do fit who need extensions.
You have to let him walk because he would probably sign that franchise tag in heart beat to guarantee him some immediate casholla.
As far as Chillar goes, he and Pickett are the only two major contributors whose contracts expire this season who will not restricted free agents.
Chillar is also our major TE stopper which will be big in our division (Olsen, Shiancoe, Pettigrew). He plays most passing downs, and is our top back up at OLB and ILB. We've all been clamoring for proven depth and we got it with Chillar.
Up next:
1. Collins
2. Pickett
3. Jolly (lowball him during his off-field stuff)
4. Tramon Williams
5. Bigby (our defense is so much better with him on the field)
