Id be supprised if he doesnt win it and if Mathews doesnt get Rookie of the year. Only other two i see competing with woodson is allen and dumervil could quitely be in the running he has like 16 sacks on the year. With Mathews its either him cushing or Harvin i would think but i think both Mathews and Woodson have the edge on both.

Uh, there is NO WAY Matthews has a shot at the Defensive Rookie of the Year. Jarius Byrd leads the league in INTs with 9. Brian Orakpo has 11 sacks. Brian Cushing has been all-around. Harvin is the best offensive player. It's between those four that the ROTY is selected.

I think that it was fair to say that Matthews was in the running with Byrd and Cushing last night before the Washington game, but Orakpo has just totally overshadowed his performance. I think it'll be between those 3, as well.
Although you could make quite a case for Matthews if you actually look at te play and not at the stats. His motor, the way he's controling his gaps. He's been off the hook. And that while Byrd has a lot of tip drill picks. Ik now, you still have to be in the right spot, but I find those to say so little about the skills off a player.
That said, I think Woodson is the DPotY. Those two interceptions he dropps certainly would've helped, though. That last one hit him right in the chest.
