Finley is one of our key players. It's no coincidence that when he was out with an injury, the Packers got thumped by the Vikings, then lost to Tampa Bay. He's been good all year, although he still disappears for long stretches. Against Baltimore, he finally did some things in the red zone, which I've been waiting for all year. We should see a lot more of that in the next couple years.

I think it's a little odd that Donald Lee is starting over Finley. Even in the preseason, it was obvious that Finley is much better than Lee.

The "starter" is just a name for the books. As long as Finley gets enough snaps to play, which he does, I don't care at all who is named the starting TE.

I expected a big progress in his play, but hell, I didn't think he has that much impact on the offense.

I agree, however I'd like to add something.

In listening to Finley talk, he's very over confident in himself. Little things like saying 'my wide outs' and things like that. I wonder if him not starting is a way to knock him down a peg or prevent him from getting too big of a head.

He is a beast, but a good beast is a beast that doesn't realize how beasty they are.

In 08 we were also picking pretty late in the draft so he was picked right at the end of round 3.

That looks like a bargain now, as long as he stays healthy and humble.
