Let's assume this team goes 8-8 (fairly good assumption with a 4-4 record). What should be our first pick? You can get talent with this pick if done right. I think everyone wants a Left Tackle, but a premier Left tackle will be gone by 15-17, and the Left Tackles left might be good, but will probably be considered a reach at 15-17.

We actually have an entire draft section for stuff like this. I think this thread will be moved there, eventually. Good idea for one though.

As you see, a lot of mocks have Charles Brown available around pick 15. If he is, that'd be a dream come true. That's my dream selection if we do pick around that spot.

Not that high on Bulaga. I think he'd be a reach at that point, like you said.

If Charles Brown is gone and we pick at 15? I have no idea, really. A lot of the DE/OLB prospects seem like reaches at that point.

Maybe we could go CB. Either Joe Haden or Donovan Warren should be available at that point. If the kid we pick at that point works out, we'd be set for another 6 years, barring injuries, when Woodson and Harris retire. Having Williams and Warren/Haden out there.

Of course, we could always trade back, though. From 15 to 20 might net us another 3rd round pick and we'd still be able to pick up a 'solid' tackle in Bulaga.

People seem to really want an O-lineman in the 1st, which I can understand. I'm one of those people who think consistency = a good O-line though. What I want this year, now that we have filled out the team pretty well with depth, is a weapon.

So my pick right now in the 1st round is Jahvid Best. He'll be dropping far down from where his talent level is due to the concussion injury. He will probably be available in the 20's.

With the way Clifton and Tauscher have once again shown up, you can maybe roll with this O-line for another year.

We'd have to go OT in the second round, though, as we really do need a replacement on that left side. Thinking Carimi here.

And one more position we could use someone at is CB. I wouldn't mind us spending a first rounder there. Or OLB for that matter

I agree about CB. I like Perrish Cox from OK St. and will be watching their bowl game on Jan 2 to focus on him. He could be available 2nd/3rd round too, based on current rankings (though we all know how accurate those are).

Ghee has been racing up the mock drafts, though, and has been mocked to us, as well. I'm a little iffy on these guys who, all of a sudden, race up the charts, though.

Then again, that's exactly what happend with Matthews, and I don't think that we can complain too much there. And there's something wrong, as well, when a player hasn't progressed at all during his college career.

I think OT is the way to go with our 1st pick but there is no way I would agree with any kind of reach there. That just doesn't seem like a good position to make a gamble on. If it comes down to it I would prefer to bring back Clifton and have a high pick on a OT behind him for a couple games. We have Lang as a backup plan incase of emergency.

For the love of God please quit with the getting a super fast/super strong guard type lineman and trying him at tackle deal. Just get a huge dude who looks like a T and let him do his thing.
