The only thing Freeman should have downplayed about our team was how well Rodgers has been doing with a craptacular offensive line.
Yes, they have shaped up the past couple of games but if you were to look at every quarterback on the list, they have a great offensive line + weapons surrounding them.

Unfortunately, he did take the Favre/Rodgers angle but he sorta had to.

It is interesting that the majority of the MVP 'candidates' play their home games in a dome. Hmm.

What you say? Controlled/Warmer climate = ability to be more consistent?

And this is the shame with Rodgers: He's mostly ignored in the media's MVP discussion because many in the press are in the bag for Brett Favre. So many writers have fetishized their Favre slobbering, they refuse to see just how great -- yes, great -- Rodgers is currently playing.

After all, if you're fetishizing Favre, how could you dare say anything nice about Rodgers?

How can anyone take an article serious with writing like this?
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

The writer brought up a few good points. Although, I don't think Rodgers is being ignored because of any one player, more so because he's only a second year starter and people haven't had time to get a boner to fantasize about his every move, yet.

He's largely ignored because he doesn't seek attention and the reason I mentioned previously.

I don't take many of these MVP articles too seriously. I find that most of them are bias, just like this guy.

Urgh. Did the article really have to go on and on about Favre? I'm really getting tired of the comparisons and stopped reading after about the 3rd time they mentioned his name.

Aaron isn't 3rd. He's about 4th right now behind Brees, Manning, and Favre. Like it or not, Favre is 2nd in the NFL in passer rating and is #1 in TD vs INTs. Brees is #1 in rating and #1 in TDs thrown. Brees and Manning are leading undefeated teams.

The bummer about Aaron has NOTHING to do with Favre and everything to do with our team "only" being 8-4 while there are still 2 teams that haven't lost yet.

I don't like the comparisons either, but it is the elephant in the room. He's stating the obvious. Some people still view Favre as Mr. Packer and it's hard to give a lot of credit to Rodgers when Favre is still playing at a high level.

I personally think Rodgers is ignored because of that and well because Minnesota put a whoopin on the Packers in the first half of the season.

However, you could argue, had GB won those games, Rodgers is probably No. 2 in the MVP voting right now.

dfosterf (2h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (2h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (2h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (2h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (2h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (2h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (2h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (2h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (2h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (2h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (2h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (2h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.

dfosterf (4h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
