Woodson really deserves it.. the only other guys whom I think are in the running are the other three below that I listed. Dumervil looked to be the guy to win it in the beginning of the year, getting in the backfield EVERY game.. BEFORE Denver dropped 4 straight games. Jared Allen is Jared Allen and Harrison is still the player he was last year.

Notable candidates IMO:

Charles Woodson

Elvis Dumervil

Jared Allen

James Harrison

--

If we make the playoffs, I gotta believe Woodson gets it for sure, although there is still a lot of football left.

OH AND..

Defensive Rookie of the year:

Gotta be Clay if not Jarius Byrd, S from the Bills.

How many pick 6's can Woody get and NOT be MVP?

More importantly, if he doesnt win Packers MVP (the MVP award that really matters) I'll be seriously pissed.

Hands down, he is the defensive MVP of the year.

You all forgot to mention former Packer Darren Sharper. 7 INTs, 3 TDs including a 99 yard one.

Of course I'd much rather prefer Woody get it as I want him going in the Hall and a Defensive MVP + a SB Ring would pretty much seal the deal, but it's going to be a fight to the end vs Sharper and Jared Allen.

I think you gotta throw in other names too like Brian Cushing, James Laurinaitis and Brian Orakpo

The leaders are Byrd (INTs), Cushing (tackles) and Orakpo (sacks)...

Right now I would have to say stat wise Cushing is over Laurinaitis...

Orakpo is basically tied with Matthews... Orakpo has two more sacks and 10 more tackles but Matthews has one forced fumble, 3 recovers and a TD of which Orakpo has none but ether way they are basically tied.

So the four big runner are

Byrd (36 tackler, 18 Pass Defend, 8 INT)
Cushing (88 tackler, 1.5 sacks, 1 safety, 10 Pass Defend 2 INT, 2 Forced Fumbles)
Orakpo (34 tackles, 7.0 sacks)
Matthews (29 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 Forced Fumble, 3 Recovers, 1 TD)

I think I would have to go with Cushing here... then Byrd and then the Orakpo/Matthews tie...

Also I could see some putting Byrd ahead as it depends how much value you put into his 6 more picks...

Matthews could have more tackles but it seems like teams are afraid to run toward Jenkins.

I'd like him to get it too. But if you ask him, the thing he wants more then anything is a super bowl ring.
THAT is what he is playing so hard for this year.

I would love him to get it, I think he has a good shot to get it if he has another dominate game like he did today or against the Cowboys.
