I don't know....he's kind of big and I am confident that one of the three (Brad Jones, Jeremy Thompson, or Brady Poppinga) that we have can get it done.

I really hope Jeremy Thompson steps up and shows us what he's got. I'm rooting for him.

Has he cleared waivers yet? I doubt he will. Wouldn't be shocked to see the Pack put in a claim.

There are a couple 3-4 teams on waivers before us the Browns and the Chiefs. I could see both putting a claim on him. I think the Browns have lost a few backers to injury this year also.

Not an overabundance? Do your reasearch, they had 7 OLBs on the roster, and now they have 6.

Joey Porter and Jason Taylor are the clear cut starters. Cameron Wake is a situational pass rusher (had 3.5 sacks in a single game this season), Charlie Anderson is a solid backup (played well replacing Porter), Erik Walden and Quentin Moses are projects.

So I can see why they cut him. Would be a good addition to the Packers in my opinion.

Reading some of the responses at finhaven, its apparent that Roth was decent at playing against the run, but not much else.

On top of that, it looks like he has had issues with injuries lately, where he apparently admitted to lying about the severity of his groin strain, making his injury appear more serious than it was and missing games intentionally - never a good thing.

Seems like he is an intense effort player, but beyond that there are definite concerns. Seems like he wanted a new contract out of the Dolphins, and decided to stoop to some low levels to try and get it.
