I have said this a couple of times since Sunday.. our linebackers had a good day, but some of that good day was because those 3 down lineman brought it hard, fast and tight against the biggest line in Football.. if they can play like that the rest of the year.. this defense is going to be just freaking fine.. not over-rated a single freaking bit.

"pack93z" wrote:

That's just the way this defense is though. It all starts up front. If the front line isn't playing well, offensive lineman will get on the linebackers and basically eat them up, especially the more athletic linebackers like the Packers.

As far as the original point of the thread.

Underrated

- Ryan Pickett - He's been phenomenal this year. I thought he struggled at times a year ago, but he's having a great season.

Other candidates: Nick Collins, Jordy Nelson, and Donald Driver.

Overrated

- Al Harris - I think he's been more inconsistent since the NFC Title game where Plaxico Burress torched him than any Packer the last two years.

Other candidates: Donald Lee, Chad Clifton, Scott Wells, and James Jones.

Remember we all hear different things and different hype on the same players and have different opinion on the players. So in your opinion who's the most overrated and underrated Packers?

For underrated I have to say Pickett. The man just gets so little credit yet usually does a very good job. The 3-4 all starts from the NT and he opens upthe DEs and the DL opens up the LBers. He just comes in and does his job very well day after day after day.

Overrated is harder at least for me. Sadly I think you have to put Clifton, Jennings and Kampman as runners for this at least for this year. ... I'm not sure who to pick.... and don't want to pick one so I'm gonna pass for now.....

Who's the most overrated and underrated Packers in your opinion?

Overrated - Jordy Nelson and I hate to say it, but Kampy doesn't work in this system at all. Nothing against Kampy, but this system doesn't work for him.

Underrated - James Jones. I'd really like to see more of him. Also underrated - Nick Barnett. Packer fans take him for granted and he's a solid MLB. There are only a handful of starting MLBs I'd take over Barnett. The other person who may be underrated is Cullen Jenkins but he's got to play a full season.

I purposely avoided any mention of James Jones during this discussion. As many will remember, I was THE great defender of James Jones this past off-season, reminding everyone that would listen (and those that would not, the "listening" thing isn't a big priority with me, lol) about his size, athleticism, and the fact that he was playing through an injury.

I bring this up now for one very good reason.

The context of my argument was the very strong possibility that the Green Bay Packers would wind up drafting a certain divadouche wide-receiver.

I still haven't got to the why.

I duly noted the karmic flow of last Sunday's game (in the chat). I further noted that EVERY SINGLE TIME Twinkie Gorilla "checked in" to view the progress of the game...bad things happened, man, bad things. He noticed it also.

I believe I have an extremely high potential to bring bad karmic flow to the Pack this Sunday. It is like my worst nightmare come to fruition.

Friggin' Crabdouche running all over the GD field willy-nilly, throwing up a career game for the ages, Dhazer typing "told ya so" every 20 seconds, James Jones tipping passes into the air to be intercepted...I had a bad dream.

If you guys opt to have my ass thrown out of the chat this weekend, I will understand.

I hope Crabtree puts up awesome numbers but still also hope the Packers win. My problem is do i wear my Crabtree Jjersey or do i put on Rodgers jersey. Nots to everyone i had my Ocho Cinco jersey on last weekend 😛
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Underrated. Cullen Jenkins. By far, imo

Overrated. I'm eliminating Cliffy, only because he is getting NO LOVE from the folks that I happen to listen to most. They are right.

Colledge.

There are not enough people on the Colledge sucks bandwagon for my personal taste. His breakdowns at some of the most inopportune times make him DANGEROUSLY overrated, because the SOB flashes enough to fool everyone into thinking that he does not suck. He sucks. Sorry.

Not nice on my part, but that is how I honestly feel.

The fact that Bush is even on this football team puts him in contention for overrated by (at least) the Green Bay Packers. They have GOT to be in the minority to an almost bizarre degree.

Call me crazy but Bush could be coming around under Capers.

dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
