I wouldn't say Dallas was out coached in this game. I think they had an overconfidence moment, which GB had early in the year against Cincinnati.
I will, however, give kudos to Dom Capers for coming up with an excellent defensive game plan. He really made some nice calls, but most importantly, Romo didn't get outside of the pocket. Josh Freeman really did a lot his damage a week ago by avoiding the pressure and making something happen outside of the pocket, but GB was prepared this week. They stayed at home and made the play.
The front seven play was outstanding and obviously Charles Woodson continues to impress. He's one of the best Packers of the last 20 years in my view.
I wasn't that impressed with the offense though. I liked the game plan, but they didn't perform very well to be honest. I was happy to see Rodgers get rid of the ball quicker and check down, but they'll need to play a better game if they're going to do things later on. Although, credit Dallas for making GB play very safe football.
I think the short passing game and the running game is key to the season. It'll set up the deep ball and stop defenses from teeing off. The Packers did that today and they looked rusty at it. I guess that's the best way to put it.
The 80-yard drive in the 3rd quarter that carried over to the 4th quarter was the drive of the year.
