It shouldn't surprise anyone anymore. Every time we were in the third and really deep situations, I said out loud, "Here comes the run." What surprised me more is that he was calling runs on 2nd and 26. Wouldn't you at least want to make the third down somewhat manageable?

No discussion warranted? It was an anomalous situation, so it warrants discussion. I assumed when it happened that it was used for a similar purpose to icing the kicker: it shut down in its tracks a play that looked like it could easily go for a first down. I didn't have a problem with it, and I still don't. I do think Mr. Triplett is going to have a talking-to from league headquarters, however, after going under the hood after that challenge. Everyone in the stadium and watching on TV knew it was the third time he'd tossed the hankie. But am I going to complain? No, it gave our defense a chance to regroup and they put in a good stand at that point.

I was impressed with the improvement in our special teams' play this week. We didn't give the 'Boys the short field like we did with the Vikings and Buccaneers. I firmly believe that -- along with the relentless pressure brought to bear by Capers -- was the primary factor in this victory. I LOVE it when I'm not throwing stuff at the screen after another boneheaded special teams penalty or blown coverage.

Mike got the game ball!

That says a great deal.......

A great deal about how many players hated that fricken negative part time field maintenance guy.

Mr. Wood was the whole problem for last seasons 6-10 finish, and a 4-4 start. See change is good.

On a bright note, however, I must confess I'm very proud of our offensive line. The rate of sacks has slowed, and we are now on pace to only give up 73 sacks on the season. Without a doubt, our O-line is earning their keep.

The Packer Defensive gameball should be split between Woodson and the 4 primary Dlineman.. they owned that LOS.. and it was a thing of freaking beauty.

Still way too many unnecessary penalties. We have to get that fixed.

Very happy with this win. Packers fans need to give credit where credit is due. We looked like a playoff team (in the second half) of this game and this defense played their heart out. This team must do everything they can to make sure Woodson is a packer's Hall of famer. Penalties need to be addressed and this team needs to prepare better during the week somehow but I am very happy with the win.

Overall, I liked MM's play calling a lot better this game than I have all year, even with the 3 pts at half time.

We were a lot better balanced (36 passes, 23 runs (not including AR's 5 runs)).

We skipped the Madden video game quick-strike offense and went with a shorter quicker, ball control offense (our longest completion was 24 yds) which, combined with a stifling defense, led to a time-of-possession imbalance of 36 mins to 24 mins.

Keeping the Cowboys high-powered offense off the field and not letting them establish any kind of rhythm was something I didn't expect, given the prior performance this year.

Hopefully, this isn't a one-week aberration.

Rodgers is the best quarterback in the league on third down, though admittedly his numbers are inflated by the fact our offense finds itself in so many goddamn thirds and long.

LOL, exactly. I was thinking that during the game. "Great, we only have a 3rd & 9 or 3rd & 11". Funny how the mind works sometimes.

Actually this did not surprise me that much.

When I entered Zero's Tuesday "Official Match Up Thread" I was shocked the Packers "D" was ranked 4th, good info from Zero made me think we could hold them under 20 points.

7 Points was a blessing, but not that surprising based on Zero's Thread.

What surprised me was the amount of 3 and outs we forced, love seeing the defense get off the field like that.

I'm not so sure of that. The Cardinals have a two-game lead in the West and they've only won one game at home all year. 😉

I wouldn't say Dallas was out coached in this game. I think they had an overconfidence moment, which GB had early in the year against Cincinnati.

I will, however, give kudos to Dom Capers for coming up with an excellent defensive game plan. He really made some nice calls, but most importantly, Romo didn't get outside of the pocket. Josh Freeman really did a lot his damage a week ago by avoiding the pressure and making something happen outside of the pocket, but GB was prepared this week. They stayed at home and made the play.

The front seven play was outstanding and obviously Charles Woodson continues to impress. He's one of the best Packers of the last 20 years in my view.

I wasn't that impressed with the offense though. I liked the game plan, but they didn't perform very well to be honest. I was happy to see Rodgers get rid of the ball quicker and check down, but they'll need to play a better game if they're going to do things later on. Although, credit Dallas for making GB play very safe football.

I think the short passing game and the running game is key to the season. It'll set up the deep ball and stop defenses from teeing off. The Packers did that today and they looked rusty at it. I guess that's the best way to put it.

The 80-yard drive in the 3rd quarter that carried over to the 4th quarter was the drive of the year.

Could Mike McCarthy called that challenge cuz he knew they were out and it would give the D a chance to rest?
