Sorry for the bad news. (Some Of You.)

The Season is not over.... There are (8) count em.. EIGHT Games Left.

If the goal is to make the playoffs the Packers are HARDLY OUT OF IT. Once the playoffs start it is a whole new season, and nothing that happened before counts.

Wild Card Teams have won the Superbowl.

Super Bowl XV - Oakland Raiders
Super Bowl XXXII - Denver Broncos
Super Bowl XXXV - Baltimore Ravens
Super Bowl XL - Pittsburgh Steelers
Super Bowl XLII- New York Giants

This evening... We have to be Thankful for the following teams in the NFC.

1-7 Detroit, Tampa, and St. Louis.
2-6 Washington
3-5 Seattle, San Fran, and Carolina.

On Tuesday morning when the Packers show up for work.. There will be (2) TWO TEAMS one game ahead of them with 8 Games remaining.

5-3 Atlanta, and Dallas or Pilly.

There will be (1) Team 1/2 game ahead of them.

5-4 New York Giants- Who are on a 4 game losing streak.

So... (8) Eight Games left and 1 game back of two teams for the Wild Card.

Perhaps it is just me, but but I reckon the season is far from over..

I didn't know that. I know everyone on here is gonna be kinda giving up, but I definitely will still hold hope.

So in other words, the NFC sucks yet again. What happened to the NFC's 13-year streak of Super Bowl dominance?

I miss those days.

you're assuming the Packers can actually win another game.

:/

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

I'm watching the Sunday night game with Dallas and Philly, and it's going to be a miracle if Rodgers doesn't sustain some sort of injury.

I guess my optimism is gone. Don't worry "I'll look at the tape and get that fixed."

Next 5 of 6 weeks we have the 9ers, Cowboys, Ravens, at Bears, at Steelers. Yes, we're mathematically still in it but if we cant beat Tampa, i doubt we can win 3 of these games and it will take winning 3 of these to make the playoffs for sure. That is assuming that Seattle & Detroit are guaranteed wins.

That would be fantastic, but unexpected and probably not reasonable.

At this point, I'll settle for finishing the season with no injuries to major players and ending 8-8. A bad or subpar season will turn into a disaster if Rodgers, Driver, Jennings, Woodson, Harris, or a few others go down.

I am always optimistic, even when I know there is no way when it comes with the Packers, and usually try to see the bright side.

Right now the only bright side is that in my neck of the woods, the current Packer games are good for the local liquor industry.

Yes, we can still make the Playoffs. But we have a severely unbalanced team.

The last WC team to win the SB were the Giants. They had a monster pass rush that made up for the sub par DB group.

What we can't do very well is pass block. Now, if Mike McCarthy would call plays to compensate for our lack of an OL, it wouldn't be such a problem. That's the big if though. MM's not figuring it out and I doubt he will by the end of the season.

The other problem we have - if we get to the Playoffs, we don't have a very good pass rush. Like it or not, the majority of teams in the Playoffs have good to elite QBs. The way to stop a good to elite QB is to put him on his butt. It's not happening so far this season for us.

Do I think we have a shot to win it all? Sure. It's just not I'm not getting my hopes up.

Now, 2 major things can happen by the end of the season.

1) MM's playcalling changes and he starts compensating for our lack of an OL. If this happens, we'll have less 3 and outs and give our D a breather.

2) Capers figures that Kampy needs to be rushing every single passing down instead of dropping into coverage. If we have to go back to the 4-3 on passing downs, so be it. We need Kampy up there generating pressure. He doesn't even have to get sacks. We just can't give opposing QBs so much time.

These two things happen and we have a completely different team.

Martha Careful (17h) : thank you Mucky for sticking up for me
Martha Careful (17h) : some of those people are smarter than you zero. However Pete Carroll is not
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Rude!
beast (21h) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
