Let's be honest, who here wouldn't!!

I couldn't care less who is getting the catches, as long as Aaron Rodgers is throwing touchdowns.

And carrying that a step further.. I care less the name on the back of the jersey throwing those TD's.. as long as the jersey in Green and Gold with that Packer logo.

Well, I agree there too. On the other hand, if Flynn is throwing the touchdowns, that means one of two things: a) We have a dominant lead and Rodgers was taken out for his own safekeeping -- obviously a great scenario; or b) Rodgers has gone down with an injury and Flynn is stepping in, which is less than an optimal scenario. In that regard, I'd prefer that the name on the jersey is Rodgers.

Or, for that matter, Driver. I think it would be fun to see some plays like we saw in the Cardinals game on Sunday night. One of their receivers toss a beautiful downfield pass that was unfortunately called back by a penalty.

I understand what you guys are saying. Of course the most important statistic is a win, and however that's achieved is fine. That's rhetorical and obvious. Of course my main concern is that the Packers win. However, that still doesn't change the fact that I want Jennings to succeed and do well. He's one of my favorite players. If I said "I don't give a rats ass if Jennings does well just as long as the packers win" would not be a trust statement for me. The packers winning is of paramount importance, but I still want Jennings, and any other player that I'm a fan of to succeed. If they're wearing green and gold, I want to see them lighting it up. I think it's safe to say if Jennings, Driver, and Finley were all over 1000 yards we would be racking up the wins anyway (hopefully), so it kind of goes without saying.

So in short, I don't think I'm at fault for wanting my favorite players to succeed. Yes the Packers as a whole are more important, but that doesn't change my hope that certain players will do well.

I find it hard to believe such a statement needs justification.

I think both Jennings and Driver were over 1000 yards last season and we went 6-10. 😉

Yeah, but statistics never tell the whole story. I'm pretty sure most of us agree that our offense did enough to win us a few more ball games. Defense and special teams lost us a handful, and some untimely offensive mistakes accounted for the rest.

Not to be a spoiler but I have to ask this question;

Great recievers are still able to get open and produce even while being covered as the #1 reciever. Is Jennings worthy of that catagory or will he continue struggling to get open as a #1?

"doddpower" wrote:

This is exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure if Jennings is truly a #1 receiver. Definitely a strong number 2 with a knack to get open deep by running great routes, but I'm just not seeing him getting the kind of separation he should, even when facing man to man coverage.

I think it's a combination of that and Rodger's just not looking his way enough honestly. Perhaps he's developing better chemistry with Driver as his go to guy? Sure seems that way.

Receivers can explode for big numbers at anytime. Look at Roddy White, Miles Austin, and the binge Steve Smith of the Giants was on. He's now cooled off.

I'm not worried about Jennings because I know he's very capable of being the receiver the Packers expect him to be. The fact is right now, Green Bay's offense is clicking. Even when they're playing poorly, they still have the ability to score 25 points and put up 400 total yards. That's really amazing and Jennings isn't involved. Eventually, he'll have a big game.

I will this .........Rodgers relies on Driver more because Driver is consistent. Jennings had some drops early in the year and that one against Cincinnati really stands out to me. Not saying there is a lack of confidence, but clearly, Driver has the hot hand right now.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
