What the hell happened to Swain? Did he trip delivering water to the coaches?

Never liked the Swain move. Ruvell would at least had contributed to the offense.

I second the Eddie Drummond nomination. Someone call up Az Hakim see if he's available :P

EDIT: Jake Allen is on the practice squad. We also have Lumpkin. Either of these two handle the KR duties?

Losing Finley is a huge blow. There is nobody on the Vikings' defense that can matchup with him.

A long shot is better than OUT. I'm hoping Finley plays and that's a bummer about Swain.

Tauscher and Green are cleared to play!!

edit, Shaun Bodiford?
Jerry Porter?
Joey Galloway?
Ike Hilliard?
Dante Hall is out there too, he can return kicks better than Jackson I would think lol

Ahman Green will be running ton of screen plays

Your words to god's ears. Haven't seen him play in awhile though.
Hope I like what I see.

Dante Hall is so far over the hill that he can't even see it anymore.

Bodiford would be a decent returner, I guess.

Ike Hilliard has had a neck injuy which forced him to retire. He's on the coaching staff of an UFL team right now.

I'd put Jerry Porter and Joey Galloway in the same category as Dante Hall.

If you're just going to sign someone for the return game, Eddie Drummond is still out there. I know, he hasn't been that 2004 Pro Bowl guy since his injury in that same year, but he was still a pretty decent returner.

If you're just going with signing another WR, I'm pretty sure that it'd be Jake Allen. And maybe we'll resign Heckendorf to our PS.

I always liked Bodiford as a returner. North south guy. Gets an angle on the coverage units.

After thinking about it, Finley being out might hurt us more than we think this game. TEs have been killing the Vikes. Especially TEs like Vernon Davis and Jermichael Finley.

Donald Lee is an average TE, but nothing more than that. Not a weapon by any means. We could've used Finley so well in this game.

Lee can be a great weapon in the passing game, if he hangs onto the ball. Played sloppy against the Browns. Not much of a blocker though.
Havner ran a 4.7 40 at the combine. He's no Finley, but he can jet.

Since we are dropping names like candy.. For a couple game stretch on the receiving side.. Marvin Harrison. He is aged like some of the above names.

Want one that I think is a real possibility and could help the return game quite rapidly.. Kole Heckendorf. Spent camp here.. late cut and currently on the Lions PS..

Wouldn't mind signing Heck. Dude's legit. I'm thinking Jake Allen, though.

We'll probably get Allen called up.

Jake Allen is a "definite possibility" to be promoted for practice squad. "We'll definitely make an acquisition (at receiver)," McCarthy said.

Would we even be allowed to sign Heckendorf laterally to our practice squad? If we wanted to acquire him, wouldn't we have to sign him to the 53-man roster?

beast (6h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (6h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (16h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (16h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (18h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season

dfosterf (21h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
