Lets not forget NFL Europe.. A few games there a year should be fine, IMO.

Yeah, as long as the teams aren't glorified practice squads, there's an audiance over here as well.

I don't think a franchise here would succeed. First and foremost because of the problems that come with the travelling between England and the US.

Secondly because having a team that'll play 16/18 matches, of which 8/9 at home, is totally different than 1 game a year. First of all, the home crowd has to be willing to go 8 times a year. Doesn't sound like much, but with the prices, I asume people will go about once or twice a year. It's going to be challenging to find the fans for every single game.

Thirdly, and kind of related, is the fans travelling with their teams. I don't know to what extend the English would travel to the US and vice versa.

And as to a SB in the UK... I don't see that happening. I can see the riots already. You can't take something that sacred from the Americans. Financially it wouldn't make a lot of sense for the NFL either. And lastly, the weather usually isn't as nice.

I like the true neutrality that a Super Bowl in London presents.. but nothing else.

I'm friends with many Viking season ticket holders from PP.O.. And one of them entered into the Super Bowl sweepstakes thing where only season ticket holders get to enter, and they draw a certain percentage to get free Super Bowl tickets. This guy won the year the Pats dropped to the G-Men. He was telling me the 'Super Bowl Experience' that they have is like a grown man's version of Disney World.. He loved it. And every year he still enters, because he obviously wants to go back. He could have made alot of money by selling those tickets, but he would have missed out on that Super Bowl Experience (only Super Bowl ticket holders can go), and he said that alone was worth it.. then team it up with that game that happened.. He said there was nothing like it. The only thing, he said, that could have made it better, would be if the Vikings were one of the teams playing during the Big Game.

I'm totally happy with giving one team a slight home field advantage as long as it stays here in the States.

I think they should relocate the Vikings to London. Then they could rename our division to the NFC North.

the NFL should just put more into the BAFA (British American Football Association) which has its own teams nationwide and fanbase. My idea would be link teams,

only problem is....BAFA is an amateur / semi pro league at best. But i think NFL europa might be a better idea again. The game has developed more and I would go watch it now aslong as there was say english division, french, german, dutch etc etc. Division champ would also be the national champ through wins

The UK? Are you kidding me? Stupid idea. They have their soccer, we have our football. We can't even field 32 competitive teams, and we want to add two more? Stupid.

It would be extremely difficult to work out scheduling. Right now everything is pretty fair. The way things are figured out and games scheduled. If there was 1 team in England/Europe, that would no longer be. 4 teams to make a new division would be better, 8 for 2 would be better yet.

Then hopefully they don't become like LA and can't support the team after the newness wears off.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I personally dont like the idea of making a team based out of london or even have 16 games played in england (as what is being proposed).

Most british people dont like american football and are actually pretty rude about it. Least that has been my experience.

Memo to NFL: Why don't you guys zip it about London until you get a new CBA/avert a lockout in 2011 to save the game for your current fans?

ha!

I cant tell you how many times I've actually gotten into arguments with women (none the less) about american football vs their soccer/rugby ie I'm trying to hit on them while they are more interested in picking a fight about whose sport is best.

... now I tend not to bring it up as much ... or just walk away when they start getting all crazy
