BEREA, Ohio (AP)The Cleveland Browns have been sacked by the flu.

Coach Eric Mangini said 12 players, including several starters, are home with flulike symptoms and he plans to adjust his practice on Wednesday as the team prepares to face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Mangini said hell make sure his players get more rest and the team is taking precautions to make sure others dont get sick.

Mangini said the NFL has provisions for teams that are overwhelmed by illness and that there may be roster exemptions to use, such as bringing players up from the practice squad.

Linebacker Kamerion Wimbley(notes) missed last Sundays game in Pittsburgh with the flu and Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers(notes) was sick during the game.



Well, I'm hoping for a 14+ point win this week. The only person I'm worried about is Josh Cribbs, who can basically take one to the house every time he touches the ball.

lulz. as if the Browns needed any more help in losing. maybe we should put an injured Clifton back in, just to give us negative yards every other down?

This flu is no damn joke and it is starting to scare me! I live in the Chicago suburbs and a HS (St. Charles East) has 925 students out....700 yesterday and 225 today added on out sick.

The school has 2,000+ kids and they closed the school for the week. Back on topic, I thought the Packers were going to win anyways but now I expect an even better showing from them.

I am also nervous that the Packers will get the sickness and that will eff a lot of things up for the Vikings game.

meh. it's no different than any other flu. in fact, my co-worker got the Pig-flu about a month ago and was only out of work/incapacitated for four days.

I understand the point spread is to try to get an even amount of betting on both sides, but explain to me why sometimes it's + and sometimes it's -
