I think Kapinos has been doing a good job punting. Sure he's no Shane Lechler but the guy does the job better than anyone we had last year.

Well stated.

The Raiders "Shane Lechler" once again is leading the NFL in punting... He is a stud.

However... Who is second in the NFL according to CBS Sportsline stats?

I think it is a red headed kid, who I personally agreed with cutting him from the Packers.... (Silly R.P.)

However..... On The Brighter Side... Of The Other Side Of The Kicking Game... Mason is 10 of 11 inside the 50 yard line. This Is All Good.

I was on his case last year, and I think he cost the team wins..

2009 Mason has been a ROCK. Plus his Kick Offs have been solid.

I am very pleased with Crosby, and it is good he is off to a very good start.

The problem is not the punter in this case.

Kapinos is 13th in Average at 45.6 yards. 32nd in Net at 33.9 yards. That is because GB is the second worst in ret yards. 20 punts 12 returned with an average of 16 yards.

Punting stats are really hard to look at, you actually have to look at each punt. If a punter is consistently asked to punt from the opponents 45 and puts them at the 10 every time, They end up with a Net of 35 yards. Punters with high Net are usually from teams that can't move the ball so they are always in position to boot it hard instead of pooch punting.

I mean I dont really want our corner backs returning balls ... and now our 3rd WR is out for a few weeks.

Heck call up the browns and offer a 2nd rounder for the cribbs.

this is slightly off topic, but there isn't 1 loss last year that i blame on our kicker. He wouldn't have had to kick any of those kicks had our defense not been god awful the last 5 minutes of every game giving up late scores.

I don't want Woodson returning punts, period. He is far too valuable... and old. I don't mean that as an insult, he just might be more injury-prone when it comes to big hits. I would sooner put Greg Jennings out there than Chuck.

I'm with Porforis.

Everytime I see Woodson go back to return punts, I ask, "McCarthy you idiot. What's next, Rodgers returning kickoffs?

You've got an MVP-quality CB, the stud of your defense, and you put him back returning punts?

I'd rather have a team average on punt returns of 0.002 yards.

It's effin' moronic.

I am thinking Swain is the best option for returning. Give him the reps in practice to get comfortable. And what does it really matter. All we do is commit penalties on returns anyway.

We would be better off playing Nickle to prevent a fake and just let the punt go. With all the negative yards we would still come out on the better.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
