I watched the showtime NFL show this week and that had a section of it devoted to the subject (which was a bit strange to me) and they made it out like Rush is some big KKK guy or something.

Now I dont know Rush or follow him but is he really a big racist or kkk guy?

A couple guys on the show acted like no black person would play for the rams if rush owned the team.

Real reason is that Rush would demand plays that run only to the right, and that would never work..

No, he's not a racist. He just believes in holding people accountable, whatever their skin color is. And thats not "politically correct" I guess.

I have a question.......i could be wrong on this, but didn't the woman that owns (or owned) the Rams make some kind of REAL racist comment that she was fined for? I seem to remember something like that, but i'll be darned if i can remember exactly what it was.

Cheesey - I think it was Marge Schott who owned some baseball team who made all the racist comments.

I can't stand Rush, but I don't think he's racist. I've never been offended by him on racial matters. I just don't like his attitude that he's always right and hate the concept of a "dittohead." That's what scares me. People who have a mob mentality scare me, because that's never been good in history.

I am on the opposite end in that I enjoy listening to Rush and find his show entertaining but certainly don't agree with all his statements. It is clear that many of the negative comments against him are made by people that have only watched his show for a couple minutes at most. On the other hand, I don't make negative comments about Air America or PBS "All things considered" because I don't listen to them.

I found the same to be true of Howard Stern when he was broadcast in DC. He was very entertaining and had a good current news discussion with Robin. Everyone that did not listen to him assumed all he talked about was porno stars and sex. The segments that were heavily sex oriented were his worst and not that common in terms of the complete broadcast.

Steve Young and John Elway used to drive defenses nuts with their running abilities. A QB who can both run and pass is ideal. That's one reason I'm such a huge Aaron Rodgers fan. I've always been a fan of mobile QBs and have always hated the Peyton Manning pocket type QBs with a passion.

A QB moving around the field is much different than the dynamic that Vince Young, Cunningham or Vick contribute to the game. The fact that Steve Young moved to not be sacked or exploit an open field run opportunity is different than standard option plays designed around the ability of the QB to effectively run for yardage.

Marg Shott owned the Reds baseball team. She also made some pretty nasty comments after that homeplate umpire died of a heart attack behind home plate. She couldn't see why the game was postponed and said people die every day. What's the big deal.

You're kidding, right? Elway was a running QB. Used to drive defenses crazy. He finished his career with more than 3 times Favre's rushing yardage total in less years, and would often run first down after first down. Caused headaches for DCs. Heck, he ended his career with 34 TDs rushing.

Steve Young was definitely a running QB. Even more than Elway. I lived in the San Francisco area for much of Young's SF career and Montana scrambled, but Young scrambled much more. One year, he ended up with 537 rushing yards and 4 TDs. He had 5 years in his career with more than 400 yards rushing and finished his career with 43 TDs.

Because of both of their running skills, often a LB was stuck having to keep an eye on them if they were going to take off running. This opened up a lot of possibilities, especially for Young who was a very smart QB and knew how to exploit this.

I've always considered Steve Young to be the most underrated QB to ever play the game. For one, he was always compared to Montana. And for another, he was hands down the best scrambler of his generation. He was the best scrambling QB since Bobby Douglas (who like Vick was a lousy passer) and the best until Vick came along.

Young was an elusive runner who could cut like a RB and turn small gains into something bigger. One of the nice things about growing up in SF, I got to see Young on TV every Sunday.

I am surprised you see things taht way Zombie

The numbers don't lie: Take Cunningham versus Elway

Elway: 234 Games with 3468 yds rushing
Cunningham: 161 games with 4922 yards rushing

Steve Young I will give you. I was surprised to see 169 Games with 4241 yds; almost comparable to Cunningham

Vince Young: 34 games 980 yds. At this rate he would have ~5000yds at 150 games but he was demoted to second string.

Vick: 76 games with 3879 yds.

Urgh! I can't believe I forgot Randall Cunningham.

I'm getting old.

EDIT: Earlier in Elway's career, he'd take off running a lot. Then there were times when the coaches told him not to scramble and to complete passes. Then he went back to scrambling later on in his career.

So yes, Elway's a scrambling QB, and was a dang good one. But Cunningham and Vick were both better, as was Steve Young. Just because the three of them were better though doesn't mean Elway wasn't a scrambling QB. I had to watch Elway as my brother was a Broncos fan (we moved around a lot - his formative years we were in Colorado).

Limbaugh is no conservative. He's a freaking right-leaning shock-jock hack. It's shtick and it's not even very convincing. He's a Republican, not a conservative, and he's frankly nauseating. :P

But I agree, that shouldn't have factored into the decision whether or not to let him be an owner. Not that Limbaugh ever believed he had a prayer of becoming an owner. He may be obnoxious, but he's also intelligent, and he knew this would bring him priceless publicity.

There's alot of things Limbaugh says thats correct. And truth is, many people feel the same way as he does, but are afraid to say anything, for fear of being attacked by the lefties.
AL Sharpton and Jesse Jackson went on the rampage to make sure Limbaugh didn't get to be part owner. Yet those two "hacks" are 2 of the biggest racists i have ever seen. But because they are BLACK racists, they get away with everything. Thats fact. The lefties embrace those clowns as if they were Martin Luther King. And King would roll over in his grave seeing what these people say and do in the name of God.
They should be ashamed of themselves.

This is kind of a pet peeve that I have about Rush too. You're bringing up perfectly valid points, but by using terms like "lefties" people are going to take you less seriously and assume that you're talking out of anger, not wisdom. "People on the left" works just as well, a simple modification that changes the entire tone of the post, or in Rush's case (Mark Levin as well), his verbal message.

The more you give people you agree with any room at all to call you crazy, paranoid, rude, etc, the more you're creating an opening for people to avoid your legitimate points and focus on YOU rather than your message.
