Some one buy this kid a beer!




I feel he is definitely quieting some of the concerns we had with him in the preseason. He could be the pass rusher we've missed opposite of Kampman since KGB's knees gave out.

He seems to be really living up to what we gave up to get him. In fact, all the USC linebackers are looking great this year. The Peterson strip and TD was cool, but I am really excited about his consistent production.

I'll need to see the same production consistently. I was burned by Hawk's good rookie season.

He has shown me some good things. Not only his ability to get pressure, more so in his awareness in the run. The swing pass Det ran, I though we were burnt, but Matthews sniffed it out, and got out infront to stop the play. end result, loss of yards.

Not only does he have pass rushing skills and closing speed, he is strong at holding the edge. I really think this will be Poppingas last year in Green Bay. Clay should not even have to platoon anymore.

You noticed little of Poppinga in the base defense as well.. that is a good sign for the remainder of the season.. Brady is a solid athlete that doesn't show solid football instincts and knowledge upon the field.

I missed the game due to work, followed on my blackberry. When I watched Z2C's highlight reel, Clay was in on nearly every big defensive stop. The fourth downs, the sacks, the coverage, the pressure in general, the kid just has it all. He was probably the third best linebacker in college and he's probably the best linebacker on our team right now. Over the course of the season we might not feel this way but after his performances in the past two weeks, hes the one producing the most.

CMlll is looking really good right now, similar to the SC days with Cushing and Maualuga, hopefully he gets all the snaps in later games as well

I think this guy is a huge ball hawk and has great football instincts. He is always somewhere around the ball. Poppinga's days are numbered in Green Bay.

I am glad Matthews was overlooked at USC's pro day because of Mauluga and Cushing (both doing well). I think Green Bay got a steal on this guy and he could do a lot of good things for them.

I am glad to read that others are high on him too. I was thinking he was looking good but didn't want to brag about it for fear of what I may not be seeing.
